control panel missing

hey, well my laptop has becoming really slow and what not. done all virus scans and everything is fine but now control panel is gone. i click it in the start menu but then says 'explorer.exe - apllication not found.' i read somewhere that its registry problems causing this. I havent found any solid info on the web.

i have vista home

you could try repairing vista files by inserting vista disk,Just restore pc via restore points

Once you boot your computer using the vista disk or hitting "F8" you will see a "repair your computer" option which just restores files that may have been damaged due to a virus etc. You won't lose your files however doing a backup is always recommended :). Let us know how it goes.

yeah ive tried that but it says there arent any errors, and now i found a virus on the 'explorer.exe' file...eish my comp is messed!

Experienced a damaged vista registry from multiple viruses which I attempted to rectify.
Eventually backed up everything and re-installed - Problem solved
