Thank you. Ok, I've added that to the smokeping config so I can compare that. My local LAN is very simple - Linux box connected with cable to Cool Ideas provided router, which is plugged in to the CPE. Smokeping is running on that Linux box.

Is anyone experiencing bad international as well as local speeds on 200mbps fibre? Since this morning my speeds have been all over the place, I thought that Vumatel's upgrade earlier this morning will improve things but it seems that they have made it worse... I am in Weltevreden Park. Local speeds are around 100-140mbps, and International 30-60mbps to london or any other european server. And yes I am on a gigabit LAN:)
 
My 200/200 seems perfectly fine to London on download. Not sure whats up with the less than ideal upload speed.

I did some initial testing and every single international host is capping out at 32Mbit upload, seems way to consistent to just be an single international host issue. All local tests I get 200/200, this is definitely something new since early yesterday morning that I only looked at now after your post.

Upload results on international Speedtests are quite volatile, are you having issues uploading to any service at all?
 
For comparison, I tried a few speedtest.net London servers but the test didn't run long enough to reach 200 Mbps upload with any of them. However, here is a dslreports.com test that looks pretty good (run with other traffic on my network at the same time, torrents etc.):

I have never need those kind of speeds on my 200/200.

I did a few speedtests to london to compare and there is a massive difference with download and up,

any idea PBCool?

As mentioned upload on Speedtest is volatile due to the TCP window scaling, do you have any issues with a particular service?

No concerns at the moment, is the TCP window scaling effecting my download speed as well?

You are a lucky man, today i got told as a rule of thumb, international speeds are in the region on 10% of local line speeds. Poor guys on 10 meg fiber.

I just dont understand how some cool ideas clients can get such epic speeds and others cant even get above 10%. Seriously annoying.

I cant stream HD content from overseas with the fastest line i can get in my area.

TCP scaling is dependent on your OS as it does the scaling, you will see download is much better than upload as on the upload it depends on the device you are pushing the traffic to, to scale it's TCP window.

Do you have a ticket number I can follow up with? I presume you are on a PON network?

If this is true results should be different on a Linux box or android system correct? never tried running speedtest-cli on Linux to see if it helps my London Upload issue

Even more than that. Results can be different on linux depending on the queue algo chosen. Even on Windows it can be different based on Windows version and/or settings changed for the TCP/IP stack in the registry.
