TT Connect trenched.

Yeah so more than likely TT Connect related, tons of issues on their network. Keep pushing the line fault, it just takes them a long time to do anything.

How is the Frogfoot network?
I am looking at singing up with you (as soon as you answer your emails) through the Foot of Frog - anything to be concerned about?

So CISP says its TT Connect, TT Connect says all is fine on my line.

The only other option is have is to wait till end of Jan to i can cancel CISP and try anther ISP.

Of course TT Connect would say their line is fine, if it was an issue on our side all TT Connect clients would be having issues. Remember our portion is very simple, the traffic gets handed over to us at Teraco and it hits our core network, there are no other factors involved from our side. This is why it is 90% of the time the line provider, we are happy to admit if there are any issues on our side. PM me your ticket number and I will push from my side.

We haven't had many issues on the FF network, but we don't have that many customers on their network either.

PBcool all still set for the extra capacity in London going live this Friday curious to see how it will affect the performance in Cape Town and if it will resolve my issues. Still enjoying the fibre overall 0 downtime great downspeeds all over! have to throttle my torrents else it effects my game pings :D

@pbcool There is something that has changed on my line - probably at the first hop, whatever that means ;-) I am not sure what to make of it. I would have assumed the first hop should always be blazing fast. Whatever is happening there is also affecting everything else.

That is definitely the line. The only thing you could do is test another router, but chances are its either the CPE, the line or the equipment.

Out of interest sake, 155.93.251.1 is on Vumatel router.

Interesting traceroute:

Code:
 ~ $ mtr shop.vumatel.co.za --report-wide --show-ips
Start: Thu Dec 14 16:34:53 2017
HOST: outlawstar Loss% Snt Last Avg Best Wrst StDev

See how that traceroute completely bypass the CISP network. So another test you could add into Smokeping.

Yeah is a p2p static route to Vumatel.

Seems like I only get 1000+ ping when playing overwatch :/

Nevermind, getting thrown around in cs as well

@pbcool - so what should I do with this?

Also, this was later tonight on the local LAN router?! This is the TPLink I got from Cool Ideas. I also did an mtr at the time and got packet loss to the local gateway (private ip).

Best to try run an MTR at the same time to see where you are picking up the high latency.

Have you tried a firmware update on the router? Loss is an issue but that spike on the graph is basically still under 1ms which you wouldn't notice.

Cool - I see there is one update out that I will apply sometime. At the time of the packet loss I did have issues with Netflix on my Roku on the TV as well - so yeah it is a concern. It is only a few months old - you'll probably have a warranty for it?

Yeah if it continues to give issues we can swap it out for you.

@PBCool - There seems to be issues with my upgrade from 10mb to 20mb, cisp is telling me its changed but nothing seems to change on my end.

Cool will investigate.

Just an update on the JHB-CT situation we upgraded our interfaces to 10G today, so this should resolve packet loss and latency spikes.

Aah is that what that was. For a few seconds I was getting DNS from Cape Town on one of the DNS server IPs. Then it went back to JHB DNS.

Yeah the anycast should be fixed next week to work correctly.
