Yeah now I understand what @PBCool meant. I tested that IP specifically to check what the latency it has to that IP from A360 because the CPT people were complaining of increased latency on that specific router....

The peering seems 100% fine at JHB at JINX I think.

Well something did change, you can look at https://netmon.heaven.za.net/smokeping/smokeping.cgi?target=CISP.CISP-London

Its fine now, but the latency jumped from 141ms to 191ms for better part of today. I suspect the layer2 provider that CISP use for cape town to london was doing maintenance and routed the traffic over the east coast instead of the west coast.

I noticed an issue with Slack's CDN too; in both cases the CDN in question is Fastly so likely some glitch at their Johannesburg POP.

I think you both are confused

1. The ip address 154.0.3.106 is in fact on a London router (I am sure @PBCool knows this)
2. Latency and routing between A360 and CISP looks fine at JHB.
--> Looks like A360 doesn't peer at Nap, they use seacom, and seacom and cisp routes fine between each other at nap when looking at traceroutes from both sides.

@cavedog, rather do a traceroute to a CISP IP address, like www.cisp.co.za / 154.0.13.95

Yeap spot on, sorry replying from my phone at the time so didn't confirm the IP.

Have queried the same thing with the carrier as we didn't receive a change/maintenance notice, but more than likely what happened.

Setting up a SmokePing instance, if anyone wants anything monitored specifically, let me know.

@PBCool
I see you dropped pricing for SADV. Whats the easiest way to upgrade?
I looked around the client area and FAQ but I couldn't find anything.

Also do the 100mbps packages on SADV stay on the TP-Link WR840N? Or do they get the AC router?

There is no automatic way to upgrade on SADV, it is still a manual process. You can just email [email protected] with the request. Only 200Mbps services come with the AC router as it needs a 1Gbps port obviously.

@PBCool, just out of interest, when can we expect the launch of the 1Gbs accounts? If I recall you said something about Jan (I could be wrong). Any new updates on that?

We are still busy with the model, we're moving offices this month so won't be Jan :)

We wouldn't have any further feedback from TTConnect over the weekend, so unfortunately not. This kind of thing with them takes time.

Where is the new pricing?

I didn’t see an announcement, I just happened to see it on their website while browsing pricing for a friend.
Edit: Just the 50 and 100mbps have been adjusted from what I can remember on the old pricing.

This was quite a long time ago :)

He was referring to old pricing indeed. I just wanted clarity maybe I had missed the announcement. Placed a request for installation on friday for SADV new site just went live recently
Great :).

Thats quite frustrating because Ive been paying R999 per month for 50mbps.
My invoice from 2 January 2018 even says R999.
So if the pricing has been indeed lowered for a while and we on month to month, shouldn't the price be lowered for us automatically?

Hi PBCool

I am on Vumatel trenched, 100/10 connection.
I am seeing very poor speeds both locally and internationally(fraction of 100/10), I tested both wireless and ethernet cable(fast.com and speedtest.net) and the experience was not materially different.

Please provide a recipe/step-by-step approach of what I need to do to isolate the issue/s.

Thanks in advance
air
