This is completely normal, your route follows our peer with Apple in London. What makes you think it is dicey?
PBCool - The website not being able to connect. Every other site works like a charm and I can connect over mobile but no luck on CISP. Worked this morning (before I switched to CISP, I was previously with VOX).

Going to try change from the default DNS servers to 8.8.8.8 just to see if that helps at all. It seems like they're actively blocking CISP IPs though, wondering if they had abusive traffic from someone else on this IP before I was assigned it.

It's doubtful they would be blocking it, give it some time and if it continues drop me a PM to troubleshoot further.

Will do! Trying to test it a few ways. Router (and ONT) reboot and changing DNS didn't help. Fingers crossed it resolves itself.

If you are using an ONT have you tried dialling the connection directly bypassing the router?

Not sure on how to do that but I've managed to resolve the issue. I changed DNS to 8.8.8.8 and rebooted. Had to do several hard refreshes to get rid of the cache but now it's working.

The issue when using CISP DNS servers was that it wasn't able to connect securely and that prevented it from connecting at all. Switching DNS servers had some effect which resolved it.

I'm able to replicate it by switching between 8.8.8.8, 8.8.4.4 and CISP default DNS servers which I noticed was just one. Don't have that default DNS IP now since the reboot but everything is online again. Odd.

It's not our DNS server that's an issue, did your public IP not possibly change during the reboots?

If our DNS was preventing people from accessing Apple we would be well aware of it.

Public IP did change during the reboot which I think is normal? I don't pay for a static IP.

I'm not sure what else to tell you. With the default DNS it's not working, with Google DNS it is. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ If you want me to run any tests I can but I'm happy with it just working for now.

I might switch back to the default DNS over the weekend to see if there's any change since I'm guessing your DNS might have better local routes. Till then, I'm happy just getting Apple up and running again.

Try plugging your PC into the ONT and creating your PPPoE connection from your PC.

Are you sure there isn't loss on your line possibly? This affects international more than local traffic with re transmits. Some of the Netstream sites still use wireless backhaul.

How would I go about debugging this?

I can test as soon as I get home.

Run a program called Winmtr to a destination for a while, from a cabled PC and see if any packet loss comes up.

I'm still having an issue. Some websites refuse to load for me on CISP/SADV but work fine on Afrihost mobile. Tumblr is a notable example.

CISP, please investigate. This started after your recent outage.

Yeah sounds like an MTU thing, can you PM me your account name?

Okay so looks like packet loss isn't an issue...
Edit: Whilst this was running I tried downloading one of my movies and got the same error on itunes.

It was a suggestion. Leave it then.

Thank you for your suggestion. I wasn't trying to be rude, I'm just saying, it is not the customer's problem.

I don't mess with my router settings - I expect them just to work.

Have you tried with another device possibly? And is your device that is downloading also cabled into your router?
