Something is broken on SADV.

Getting 1 Mbps download on local speed tests. Upload is fine...
 
Hi PBCool

I need your honest opinion on the TTConnect network. I am moving into a new house next month where TT is live and you have a great price on the 50/50 line, but I have read some bad things about their network/support/communication and now I am a bit skeptical. Seeing as you guys still deal with them can you vouch for their network, support etc? Vuma should be live at my new house within the next 3-4 months, do you think I should wait for them? Thanks!

TTConnect are one of the worst to deal with, that being said they are one of the bigger "small" players out there, I wouldnt wait as what is said to be 3-4 months could be longer with delays etc.
 
Mmm, go with TTConnect though you for the interim and then do the switch to either Openserve/Vuma when they go live? What is their average waiting period for installation?

Yes there are many, advice is to always cable in fixed devices. And then run additional cabled access points to areas with low signal strength, you might want to also check the wireless noise levels to see which channel is best to use in respective areas, or if you need to possibly use 5Ghz and 2Ghz devices.

I use this app by netgear https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.netgear.WiFiAnalytics to go round and check the signal strength and channel of any neighbors WIFI signals and then alter my routers WIFI settings to be on the channel with the least noise.

The other thing that helps a lot is putting the router high up and away from walls. Personally, I put mine in the roof space, since I started doing that and setting the channel properly, I haven't had a problem.

But if your in a house with a lot of walls or a big property, adding additional access points might be your only option.
 
[MENTION=394133]PBCool[/MENTION] - have created a ticket this morning for higher latencies (+100ms to your Randburg server) and lower bandwidth. Been happening for the past hour or so and a reboot of the CPE and my router + switch didn't help.

Okidoki what does a trace look like to anywhere?
 
any way to explain why I start off with full speeds (6MB/s) to a local mirror then hit around 900mb downloaded then drops and stays at 1.2MB/s? 20% of my speed, test is repeatable.
