When I used a program called Speedify over the weekend, I had a very stable connection, but this program as I understand it, bypasses any of your routes or hops or whatever it is called and uses ta single end to end connection from my PC to where the destination is, IE in this case Amazon servers in EU. Ping is stable but a little higher at around 190ms where if I was just using the line as normal it would be around 160ms (at least that is what it should be)

So ultimately, I don't want to use Speedify because I want the 160ms ping, and I don't want to pay Speedify to create me a stable online gaming experience because I am paying my ISP to do that.

Does this run via a VPN? Because it sounds like your issue could be MTU related.
 
Hey... how much of a schlep is it to move to Cool Ideas from another ISP? Apparently the current ISP has to release the fibre line into a pool of some sorts after cancellation where Cool Ideas can pick it up. Is it possible to use a Cool Ideas username and password before the line has been released into the pool? I'd love to do this with as little downtime as possible - very much not keen on days without a connection

With Openserve yes this is the process, the line gets released and we claim the line, you need your "B" number for us to claim it. We have data only accounts you can use but realistically once the line is released your service will stop anyway.

Any idea if openserve pricing will drop anytime soon? Would love to switch to you guys from Vox, but at 50 bucks more for a month for the 20/10 line - don't see it as worthwhile. Also will price drop if I don't want to use the free router i.e. I don't want it?

Packet loss doesn't matter along a path, some routers drop a certain amount of ICMP for security reasons.
