There have been quite a few complaints of Octotel performance, please log it for me. I need this from everyone having issues because we need a case for Octotel. And support aren't picking up a lot of performance related issues with Octotel on the ticket side.

Must be an Octotel thing.

@PBCool can you confirm there's issues with Vumatel? I just spoke to a support agent and she says there's issues on Vumatel? My connection went down around 10am this morning in Allen's Nek, Roodepoort.
There is an outage in Bromhoff I am aware of, what lights are on your CPE/ONT?

Been unable to stream TI on twitch for the past week... Why is performance degraded as of late? International performance as a whole feels just as worse.

It has been fine for me on MFN
although my mate in Vumatel in dainfern cant stream TI at source at all, maybe 480p etc. Its in a big way down to congestion

Lastly make sure when you do tracert live.twitch.tv
It routes to france and not RIO, if it routes to RIO change your DNS to the CISP one.

Its not just you. I got Octotel 100/25 in Southern Suburbs and every single night during peak time international throughput dries up.

Its been like this for a week and a half now for me.

Yup, for me it's been like this every evening and weekend during peak times, international not great and major ping spikes constantly when playing online. Even now, going from 215ms to 550ms every couple of minutes.... Not great. There is something seriously wrong as of late, before it used to be every other evening now it's every evening guaranteed.

Wow, thank you for sorting the OpenServe issue. Played the entire night on various games and they all ran buttery smooth. I will definitely be staying on. Will log a call to cancel the cancellation on Monday.

Thanks for keeping your word and actually fixing the problem, unlike other ISP's that say they will resolve issues, but never do.

Kudos

Still waiting on feedback, trace again and see if it routes via JHB for me.

Yep going via JHB now, thanks - better than what it was..

Yeap outbound enetworks return via IS transit in JHB.

@PBCool could you kindly do exactly what you did there on openserve on my line please, still lag spikes on call of duty

So can you do this for me too? I am still getting high ping spikes on my online gaming and getting to a point now where I want to get this sorted out. Do i need to up my line to a 50/50 (currently on a 20/20), do I have to try another ISP and see if I still get similar issues, is it Vumatel in my area. I am not really getting any answers or solutions here PBCool.

When I was on a similar line speed (20/10) with Openserve and Level 7 at my old house I never had any issues with gaming whatsoever.

You replied to me the last time that you think it is congestion. What is congested? The Vumatel network in the Benoni area?
My house devices? (I have a TV that streams Netflix (not 4k) and two phones on Wifi that does a little bit of Facebook and emails) but even when it is just the PC using a lan connection and no other devices using the line, I am still getting the same results.

I have posted numerous Trace routes on this forum, I have had tickets open, I have seen how many other people are complaining about similar issues in the last month.

Where is the problem?

When I used a program called Speedify over the weekend, I had a very stable connection, but this program as I understand it, bypasses any of your routes or hops or whatever it is called and uses ta single end to end connection from my PC to where the destination is, IE in this case Amazon servers in EU. Ping is stable but a little higher at around 190ms where if I was just using the line as normal it would be around 160ms (at least that is what it should be)

So ultimately, I don't want to use Speedify because I want the 160ms ping, and I don't want to pay Speedify to create me a stable online gaming experience because I am paying my ISP to do that.

Octotel has made a change so please test for me tonight again and let me know for all the Octotel users.
