Hi @PBCool
Compliments of the New Year to you and your team.

As per mine and others posts from last year (22 Dec), I'm still experiencing issues of zero connectivity to certain sites / apps (Reddit, my UniFi AWS Hosted Controller and others) via LAN cable and Wi-Fi.

I'm using a UniFi USG (with latest firmware) and as per @under_sky 's post, I've tried changing the MTU (MSS Clamping) from Auto (which was working perfectly) to 1436 to try resolve this but to no avail - my USG won't connect to the internet when I do this. It'll only re-connect with the same issues with the setting set at Auto.

Please can you assist - I'm at a loss on this one...

Have you tried bypassing your USG and on what fibre network?

Vuma Aerial Atholl.

I tried using the supplied TP Link and it all worked perfectly.

I'm at a loss because it was working perfectly on and before the 21st of Dec

Edit: EG: DSTV now app not working - wife going mad :crying:

We no longer clamp the MTU on our side statically, this allows devices with higher MTU capability to have better performance. It's negotiated at the PPP level and is clamped on either end. At least this is what all devices should do, PM me your account name and I will see what you are connecting with, please set to auto and reconnect.

@PBCool I received another email from your support centre giving feedback regarding the response from Octotel. Their response is that the line is stable, whatever they mean with that. My international upload speed is still 2.5 whereas the local upload speed is 25. Is this ever going to be resolved?I can see all the other people here on the forum have excellent upload speed, why do I have to accept that my speed have to stay like that. I have been patient and I am thankful that my international download speed has been excellent for the last couple of weeks, but it is impossible to upload anything that does not take hours. I have done speedtest after speedtest, iperf test after iperf test, on lan, on windows, on android, directly to the ont, on different computers. Can you please ask Octotel to send one of their experts with their own equipment to come and confirm that I am not talking nonsense.
Thank you

There's a problem either on the Octotel side or with the ONT they dropped at your premises.

Happy New Year, yes, you are right.
Happy New Year
And yes, in the spirit of the forum and Cool Ideas being so hands-on with their clients I am also willing to share my knowledge here.

Do you also have that crappy DASAN ONT?

I am not sure, where do I check?

I looked now, yes it is that one. I also noticed that it was installed upside down. Surely it should be the other way around? 20190102_194112.jpg

Octotel uses this ONT across its whole network, so is going to be a process of elimination to resolve.

What should I do, thanks for your help.
1. Power that thing down for an hour, maybe more. I seem to suspect this had something to do with my issue being resolved
2. Connect ONT directly to your laptop and make it connect via PPPoE
3. Do the iperf3 tests PBCool will give you
4. While connected directly to the ONT, run the speed tests and let's look at that.
5. Make sure your laptop has a Gigabit Ethernet port when you do this. This DASAN ONT seems to have some kind of issue or dislike with 100 Base-T connections.

I have done it, many times.
