1. Power that thing down for an hour, maybe more. I seem to suspect this had something to do with my issue being resolved
2. Connect ONT directly to your laptop and make it connect via PPPoE
3. Do the iperf3 tests PBCool will give you
4. While connected directly to the ONT, run the speed tests and let's look at that.
5. Make sure your laptop has a Gigabit Ethernet port when you do this. This DASAN ONT seems to have some kind of issue or dislike with 100 Base-T connections.
I will do the iperf tests in the morning when hubby is still asleep, he is watching sport now.

OK sorry I don't mean to make you repeat things... what package are you on?
100/25
perfect download speed, local, jhb and international.
perfect upload speed local
upload speed to jhb starts degrading
upload speed to london 2.5
upload to mega 2.5

Similar issue to me... had the same problem... Somehow that ONT loves my Mikrotik. Don't ask me how or why.
I reckon that ONT's flaky firmware is the issue here. I think they need to either replace it or check the line quality.
I am too scared to dig deeper on my side about that ONT and how it works and whether it has an embedded command line or GUI.

My son is coming home this weekend, I will ask him to bring his mikrotik router and see if that is the problem. Thanks for taking time to try and help, appreciate. Have a lovely evening.

Thank you kindly, look forward to the outcome of that, because if it is the DASAN then we have all we need to ask Mr. PBCool to get Octotel to stick it to their hardware provider.

I have done the iperf tests, over lan directly to ont. I have submitted it to support. Can you please have a look at them? Thank you.

There's a problem either on the Octotel side or with the ONT they dropped at your premises.

So it’s not only the Octotel boxes that are weird.
TT Connects ont only play nicely with expensive Mikrotik routers.
My 100 was rubbish overseas until we upgraded the router. Now 100%

Well I am not surprised. The lowest bidder for the equipment wins. FTTH roll-outs cost a fortune.
I suspect in time the issue will get better as the FTTH providers make their money back and turn to profits.

What APK u using ?
I switched from Tea to Cinema. And boom. 1080 links everywhere.
I did that last night and you right it worked flawlessly, some how cinema hd picks up better links then cyberlix does from RD , example ralph breaks the internet on cinema hd i pick up 1080p but on cyberflix i cannot seem to pick it up

@PBCool - Could you please take a look at my issue. I've had a ticket open since the 18th of October (COOL-20181018-161418).

My problem is pretty simple. I'm on FrogFoot 100/100 in Cape Town, and as has been mentioned in this thread a few times - but without resolution so far it seems - that there is a problem on frogfoot's side with single threaded downloads.

To me it also seems that there are backhaul issues to joburg as speedtests to CISP's server never exceed 60mbps.

Also, it seems a bit weird that the ticket was closed when I took a look today. I never closed it, and there has been no response since my last reply stating that the issue is not resolved.
