Ugh - I used to be able to VPN to London for a solid 140ms - now the latency to that same server is 173ms.
 
Intl is definitely degraded, never been this bad before for me, Vuma 200/200 JHB

I bailed from Crystal Web when they switched to their new network for this exact reason. I hope @PBCool is reading this and working on it (although it would be nice for them to at least reply and let us know they're looking into it).
 
You can see they're actively avoiding this thread - as they've both been on the forum recently.

Last active yesterday afternoon so I'll give them the benefit of the doubt (for now).

They haven't responded to any of the issues raised in this thread for quite a bit longer than that. (last post 23 Jan)

I don't actually get this continual hero worship from forum members - considering the state of their ISP - and general lack of service.

I was in a game pre-maintenance last night. 167 ping. Got booted out of a game during maintenance.

Post-maintenance 187 to same site. Checked this morning, same story. WACS messed up if they added 20 ms to all their traffic.

I've been a long time cisp user, back when their OS infrastructure was premature and everything being routed through JHB. Although I saw CW for what they really were when they tried to place a legal case against me for something I had nothing to do with.

CW's post-glory stage really seems to be aligning with CISP at the moment. From being a community driven ISP to some corporate structure where they don't want community to be involved. In this case, CISP isn't a reseller like how CW was. Meaning we won't see them fold. However at the spiraling rate they are falling, they look to be the new mweb or afrihost without ever becoming a near-house hold name. Paul's in-depth mybb involvement has really changed for the worse.

It's not hero worship. I've worked in retail and know sometimes things are completely out of your hands, or at such a scale that things are beyond the scope of your resources.

That being said, I know Crystal Web took a massive knock when they dropped the ball with their various issues, in particular their network migration. It would be silly for Cool Ideas to go silent during a time such as this. This isn't some social media scandal or something you can just sweep under the rug and hope it goes away. From what I've seen this forum actually has a reasonable amount of impact when it comes to the success/failure of an ISP.
 
Just spoken to Support via Phone, the International Maintenance from last night is not completed, when it is completed they say you will see a "Resolved" in green next to the announcement. So that is why latency has not returned to normal level yet.

If I were in your shoes, would 100% agree with you that CISP is really lacking right now.

I personally still have exceptional quality internet at home.
My gaming latency to EU is perfect, 145ms in game in WoW.
My downloads from international is fast, can easy max out my 100Mbps line.

So I really don't have any complaints.

That said, what is concerning, is the fact that @PBCool went almost completely dark on all communication. It is one of the things I liked the most about CISP on this forum. If that falls away, CISP may very well end up being the same as every other ISP out there. For now, I just hope their network stay unshaped as was the case.
 
My performance was always good, but it's even better now after whatever they did with the NNI swap out or whatever. Latency to Europe is a consistent 144ms, downloads from the US are flying, torrents are flying, streaming all fast and stable as ever. Thumbs up!

Ah thanks Jannier. From the wording on their site it seemed like it was going to be one hour only.
