ALSO having massive issues staying connected to Battle.net! WTF CISP! I'm going to post your router back to you and bail if you dont sort this **** out. Hero to Zero!

Finally

Cape Gate, Blouberg
Octotel engineers will be performing emergency maintenance. Connectivity might intermittent during this time.

Octotel service areas: Cape Gate, Blouberg
Maintenance start time: 1 February: 06:00
Maintenance duration: 2 hours
Maintenance end time: 1 February 08:00

Latencies have improved slightly (180 vs the 160 I normally get) and not getting any more packet loss.

Yeah. I'm in the same boat. I don't really mind not getting full line speed during peak hours as long as my ping is stable, and it within the last hour it just went to absolute ****.

Is WACS busted?

Its being maintained: https://coolzone.cisp.co.za/index.php?rp=/announcements/775/Cool-Ideas---International-Traffic.html

Read above if you in the Western Cape.

I'm so jelous.

Increased international latency, huh CISP? Can't even stay CONNECTED to Battle.net, nevermind see my latency.

If this continues, I'm out.

I also had issues with Battle.net. Seems to be working fine now though.

My ping to the EU/UK is still 20 ms more than normal. Going to assume that's just part of the maintenance issue and check tomorrow.

just moved from 50/50 mf fibre to cool ideas 100/100

I'm not getting 100 meg down when doing the line test ... is this normal ? getting 85 upload ... not that it's a biggie but just wondering if this is normal with 100/100 lines

previously on 50/50 I'd get 50 up and down
I can say that i always get my 100.100 no matter the time or day on MFN with CISP

does anyone know if the IS news server is still available via CISP ? I can't seem to connect to it lately. Thanks

What area are you in?

Local Speedtest are fine. Overseas not so much on 50/50. Also windows Speedtest sometimes won't get full speed due to TCP stack in windows "or something like that"

TCPOptimizer is supposed to fix that AFAIK.

@PBCool Hey, latencies to the EU are still a solid 20 ms higher after last night's maintenance. Have we been moved onto a different international link?

For those on OpenServe in Cape Town who have issues in the evening - the 6pm to 11pm time slot - I finally got confirmation that CI has capacity issues on OS in Cape Town and are waiting for OS to upgrade it.

At least now I know why Twitch is bad for me on CI in the evenings. Hopefully OS upgrade them sooner rather than later.
Well that explains my 1mb line at night when i am suppose to have 100mb. Hope this gets done real quick

just not consistent

Throughput looking alright this morning - though daytime speeds are never a problem.

Of major concern though is that latency - that used to be a solid 140ms..

@PBCool - am on the 102.132.xxx IP range now - not sure if this is the reason like last time, or the WACS maintenance has screwed some routes?
