Go to any electronic shop, normal 9ah battery. Take the old ones out for sample.

I get we in South Africa and "maak 'n plan" and all that jazz but how has no one made these things any sort of commercial capacity?

Ugh my soldering skills are not what they should be :(

On thats size ups you probably going to have 2 x 7ah batteries, replace with gel type and not lead acid. Try and find the biggest amp hour battery with the same physical size to fit back into the UPS. I found 9ah ones before, just make sure its gel.

ha ha ha :ROFL: Shame dude. Its that exact reason why I went for the APC UPS that had the "silent" button on it. So it can STFU when it works.

If you really desperate to get a hold of a brand name APC battery replacement rs-online seems to have some.

Yes - they will be 12V / 7ah batteries that you can get at any battery shop - take the UPS there and they will swop them out for you. I paid about R250 odd per battery on one of my RCT 1000VA UPS'
 
Vumatel in my area is properly fked since yesterday. Again I am calling them out on not having any backup power when loadshedding occur.

Today we just have loadshedding stage 2 and the network is not coming back up remotely as quickly as it used to after loadshedding stage 2 outage.

From 12am until 7am vumatel network in my area was up and down every 15minutes and then suddenly for 4hours down. All of this without any loadshedding.

Either equipment got damaged yesterday or there is other issues that just so happen to coincidence at the exact same time as the first loadshedding in months.

Thank you for the excellent information, not as cheap as Durban Price but at R500 it is R2000 cheaper then what I paid for the UPS originally back in April 2015, so lasted me almost 4 years. Got them at Battery Centre, 2 x 7Ah Lead acid batteries.

Which area are you ? If you are in my area Stellenberg then I guess you are in the same boat as me. 5-6hrs before there is any network traffic and then 3hrs later vumatel network dies again.

Damn!! to late, already bought 2x 7ah Sealed Lead acid batteries from battery centre and replaced it in UPS, UPS back up and running. Old UPS batteries where flat after just 2.3 hour, so my connection to Fibre dropped and now I sit in the "firestorm" **** waiting for the CPE to connect and get an IP..........

So our UPS actually has a three prong plug at the back (sorry for the mess, it's in a space where we don't clean often coz of all the cables). We just attached a multiplug to that.

Same here, power came back on at 16H30 and now at 18H20 still blinking blue power light on CPE and no IP. :mad:
Using phones 4G as hotspot. Brackenfell location.
