Cool Ideas Fibre ISP - Feedback

Ye vumatel durbanville since around 11am internet been all over the place for the very first time since getting fibre with cisp.

Now I don't know if its cisp issue or vumatel issue, totally screwed :/

Strangest thing all my international traffic, speedtests etc is excellent. Just twitch for the first time is totally screwed.

I dont really know how to use Twitch, just clicked on a live channel, It went straight to 1080 on my little Remix Mini over wifi. I used Bromite Browser. No buffering. 20190301_192304.jpeg

Moved one line over to another ISP and now I’m being asked to return a router I didn’t receive? What’s the way forward here?

Any links going through joburg have been screwy for most of the day. The latency is constantly shifting up and down by 10ms and theres some packetloss. International seems fine except for twitch, which is performing abysmally since they changed the routing.

Let me know when you come and I will put the kettle on. :-) All I can say is keep up the pressure on the network. We know it is not Cool Ideas. Yes, I really appreciate the internet now after months of struggling.

Man I can't get over the difference the proxy makes to twitch. It goes from completely non-functional to completely flawless.

Have reverted the changes we made earlier to deal with twitch. Let me know if it's changed things for you.

That's cause we're taking care of the local Octotel packet loss by relaying your connection.

Also, let's not get entirely fixated on twitch. How is your general networking going without the proxy @image132 ?

Would like to see some more iperf UDP and other tests.

Honestly, this is part of the reason I am swapping to another ISP. I've cancelled my services with Cool Ideas and apparently you can't even do that right. YOUR support staff is the very reason I am leaving. I have written confirmation from your staff that my services are cancelled yet there is an open order on the vuma portal from 2018 for cool ideas that is preventing my new isp from activating any new services. Vuma can't help me as they say only CI can fix the issue. I have been without internet since this morning and at this rate will probably only have working services on Monday.

So, what has our support staff done (other than following process for your cancellation) that is making you leave ?

It would help me to improve if you told me exactly what went wrong, and why you are cancelling...

I've disabled the proxy settings and Twitch is still working 100%, hope this is helping you diagnose whatever issue you are looking into!

Taking 5 days to respond to a support query, not caring when customers service are affected, not making an effort to sort out service issues. Your support staff assured me all services would be cancelled at the end of February and clearly it hasn't.

This feedback thread has a few pages worth of the same complaints.

Please PM your account details, and tickets logged and I will look into it. If whipping is required I will do so, but so far you have not given me anything concrete.

I focus on twitch because its the streaming service I use the most. I enjoy some online gaming with my friends and watching twitch. If you look at my ticket twitch was the original reason I opened my ticket. Then we found all this packet loss.... General internet use is significantly better since Octotel have fixed whatever it was that was causing the large amounts of packet loss, I'm assuming because there are less re-transmits to sites. Speedtests are miles better, like night and day.
