Ok, sorry PBCool, that sounds harsher than I intended. Vumatel installation team was here at 8am, but although ONT/CPE was installed before 12, the "FX" i.e line was not active. Seemed to be because Vumatel had a different/wrong address for me.

The "FX" light came on at 3:30pm or so; but I needed an "object number" to sign up with you guys apparently? Vumatel eventually supplied number at 4:50pm.

Then, I followed instructions as per CISP's sign up email. Didn't work. And then...it was too late. Ok, will pm you my original ticket ID; hopefully you can help out tomorrow.

You get your object number on the vumatel portal. Just plug in your router and browse to anywhere. It will redirect you.

Not according to the installer? As I said above, the line was not active until 3 hours plus after the installers had left. And, once I got the number, and specifically put the vumatel.net into the browser, it said site could not be reached.

I think it might also be due to the fact that it is a brand new router I linked up as well this afternoon.

I have a 20Mbps/10Mbps Openserve line using Cool Ideas. Recently I have not been able to get more than 10Mbps download speeds on the 20Mbps line. Has anyone else experienced the same issue?

I have also noticed that they route my outbound traffic via some private IPs (see traceroute below). This was the exact same thing I saw on Crystal Web with their DDoS issues they had.

What are your experience with Cool Ideas?

I'm seeing the same issues on a 100/50Mbps Openserve connection (out of KZN). I'm new to CISP and I'm barely getting 5-7mbit down from ~7PM till ~10PM... and check out that latency, something isn't right. I'm not downloading or uploading anything. Support is closed now, is there anything I do to get this looked at in the mean time?

Yeh man this is really strange. My line has only been doing it for a few days now. It used to run at maximum speed just after it was installed, and my outbound traffic didn't route over those private IP ranges.
 
Yup. I only got connected a couple of days ago and until recently, full speed (nothing obviously wrong).

We're aware of the Openserve issues all, should have some feedback tomorrow around it.
 
Does anyone have upload issues?

For the past few days I'm having trouble streaming from my home server (on Cool Ideas 200/200) when I'm at an external location.

My Teamspeak server stops uploading and sometimes disconnects its clients.

And finally, in games, where game-play continues as normal, I can see everything happening (download), but my input (upload) has no effect.
Latency is 100%.
Download speed is 100% as well.

When I signed up, I had a similar problem, as the vumatel leaflet said to go to vumatel.net, which just didn't work. The documentation was wrong, you need to visit shop.vumatel.co.za which (at least for me) did work, create an account, sign in and then choose your package. This assumes your on vumatel trenched.

What do you get on a Speedtest?
 
[MENTION=394133]PBCool[/MENTION], any issues with authentication your side? No service at all, West Beach, CT area. Router logs show the following, auth seems fine, but then drops not long after. The error just repeats every few minutes, rebooting router doesn’t help.
