Damn! That is horrendous - not upgrading to anything higher than 50 (which I currently have)

Strange thing.. Monday evening it was FINE! Fortnite install running at 54 Mbps - and last night the trouble started..

After 21h00 - 11 Mbps

And now just before 22h00 :

Guess we should do other stuff till 21h00 before using the Internet...

Also getting packet loss, Durban, Moseley Vumatel trenched, ps4 keeps saying network cable unplugged, wait 4 or 5 seconds then it carries on.

Pretty much the same network lag but on PUBG, its rather annoying

International not much better for me. Path of Exiles game, Amsterdam & Paris servers normally have 145-150ms, now 179ms at best, mostly higher

my ping in rainbow six siege was fine, but the packet loss is what killed me. Vumatel aerial, Wilgeheuwel.
It started after 19:30

@TheRoDent After the 5pm hiccup was fixed the internet was actually very very good.

For 9pm this is unheard of for me. Twitch worked too which is pretty incredible. Man I hope it stays like this.

Was there an issue with the switches at Rondebosch that you replaced them?

Last I spoke to PBCool which was on Monday, he said everything is ready but they are waiting to get a VLAN from Vumatel. It was supposed to be this week but I guess that didn't happen.

No, we're installing additional switches to cater for the increased capacity requirements of the new 1Gbps services as well as more FNO's coming online. However our rack was running a bit low on space so some things had to be juggled.

Wasn't routing via Joburg but via the EASSY cable on the east coast which incurs additional latency from Cape Town due to the longer route.

1gps from Octotel or from any FNOs?

Well I have no idea what was fixed then. Between the issues the WACS cable seems to be having, you guys upgrading your switch capacity and potentially Octotel fixing stuff in the background my internet has improved 10 fold in the last day. Its now back to what it was like when I first got it. Whatsapp messages don't one tick or just refuse to send, webpages respond and load a whole lot faster and although I need to do more testing tonight single thread performance to the UK has gone up 10x in the evenings.

It feels like a really positive step for my internet.

The final test will be Sunday night...always had issues on Sunday. Will see
