This is good news I travel around SA every so often for work. You rate this 5G from CISP will work and not get blocked?

On Vodacom currently but I wouldnt be surprised if they do implement tower locking at some point.
 
Hi Guys.

I just want to give a small review of my Cool Ideas Vodacom 5G package that iv used for the past few days.

I get around 200-250mbps download and the upload isn't good, ranges between 10-30mbps.

I play a lot of Call of Duty Warzone online gaming. This is where the package struggles for some reason. During off peak times I get a stable 30-40 ping. At night in peak times I get terrible ping spikes ranges between 80-900ms ping. Makes the game unplayable using this package at peak times from around 19h00-22h00. Please note no other devices is connected to the ZTE 5G router except my pc via Lan.

I have been a Rain 5G premium user for many years now and surprisingly Rain outperforms this package interms of online gaming and ping stability. I get a stable 14-25ms ping continously. On my Rain package I have the Outdoor 5G CPe connected to my Huawei WiFi Mesh 3 in the home and I get a average 200-300mbps download with a 80-100mbps upload.

I think this Cool Ideas 5G package offers good value for money for casual usage. Not good for gaming.

Hi, with 5G or any cellular product you are going to have an experience based on many factors, your location, line of site, spectrum availability, antenna direction, area congestion etc etc

So your experience will differ from the next person at the end of the day, if you got a directional antenna it would probably resolve your issues. Also why fibre for instance is a product that ends up being more stable.

The alternative is also to try an MTN sim?

I dont think so, you can update your location but its obviously not designed to be mobile. It is "fixed 5G" at the end of the day.

Hello team, actually I'm using your MTN 5G sim & router working fine. I got 2 questions .
I'm thinking to order another mtn 5G sim card for my girl freind,

1. so my question is , would the mtn 5G sim working on LTE router like huawei b525 ? You guys will locked it if is not on 5G Router?
2. Since vodacom is not location locked, will work on any address even if is not appearing on your map?

Hi, 1) the sims should work so long as the router is on the certified list.

2) location locking is very different to coverage, but again if there is no 5G coverage it should drop to LTE so long as there is signal coverage.
 
It seems like the speed restrictions have been put into place now. Oh well was fun while it lasted.
