@William1102: Are you planning on sticking with Vodacom 5G or switching to MTN 5G ? Keep us posted on how things work out for you. You were one of the first customers and I must say that most of us have not experienced the deterioration of service that you have. Hopefully things will now improve for you !
I have read about similar issues from several of the Afrihost customers. I hope that the Cool Ideas Vodacom 5G packages work much better for you !After months of issues now the same router in the same position is working fine until yesterday where it started again but calmed down still ordered via cool ideas as CI had minor issues compared to Afrihost
When first setting up I also had the same issue, picked up 5G , disconnected, rebooted and now connected on 5GHi All,
So managed to get 5G signal - however no internet; now where as yesterday I had only 4G and could browse
Thank you, yes it has been hell on Afrihost, I had to permanently VPN the network to get usable internet, something broke massively on the route the 5G was using.I have read about similar issues from several of the Afrihost customers. I hope that the Cool Ideas Vodacom 5G packages work much better for you !


tried sim in my phone and still can't connect to internet
tried running speedtest and hanging at "Finding provider"
other sim cards are working fine on router and in phone so definitely the sim card or connection
Yes - the SIm worked last night in the same phone, Sim was working fine yesterday in the router (Although not 5g but LTE could surf and download) - today no Inteteentr nothing double checked APN etcThese SIMs don't work in phones apparently, only a few approved routers. Did you set your APN to coolideas?

Noted thank you, if you are still experiencing issues via the router, I would recommend having our support team troubleshoot with you and try a few things.Had to test in phone to eliminate not a router problem for both internet connection and 5G issue
I don't think so as most of the issues are resolved as the thread has been quiet@William1102: Good to hear that the Cool Ideas Vodacom 5G packages are performing better. I expect that more customers will be jumping ship very soon !
