Cool Ideas Fixed 5G/4G Feedback Thread

Can anyone help me?I have different Vodacom SIM cards and both of them connect and has great signal but no internet- APNs double checked all in order.

Everything was working fine yesterday till this morning - no changes on my side.

My Telkom SIM cards are working fine no issues.Tested the SIM cards in different routers same problem for both Vodacom SIMs - Signal connection all good but no internet

Hi, have you spoken to support? Please quote the ticket number?

HI there, apologies for the wait,
Just got confirmation from our dispatch team, that it will go out today. Deliveries are typically within 24-48 hours
You will receive tracking info anytime after 5pm
I used to pay via my credit card set to automatically each time without having to insert the credit card details each time I pay on Afrihost. Does Cool Ideas not have a similar setup ? Even my hosting allows this @CoolEscalator

Unfortunately we don't have this Option, I know it has been a request over the years, but we only offer Debit orders in that regard, or Recurring/ Instant EFT

Do you offer normal EFTs?
Yes, you can explore all payment options on the Invoices via the portal.
Once you view an unpaid invoice on your portal, there should be a dropdown list with all available options.
When you select EFT, it will provide the details, and Reference number there.

The World Cup Soccer Tournament kicks off in two weeks time so I have been investigating the performance of my Cool Ideas Vodacom 5G service while streaming from SABC+ (www.sabc-plus.com) using the highest resolution available (1080p). Usually many companies offer generous discounts to new customers during the event so this might be an excellent opportunity to purchase a new broadband service or equipment in order to watch the games.

Here are a few screenshots from the Bafana Bafana Team Selection Announcement on Wednesday night. I am unable to take screenshots from any of my android devices due to copyright issues so the screenshots have been captured from my notebook at 1600x900 resolution. There were a few instances where the picture became garbled for a few seconds but I will be very happy if this is the quality that I can expect once the tournament begins and millions of customers start streaming the matches.

The SA team will play Nicaragua in a warm-up match this evening starting at 18:00 if anybody else would like to stress test this platform during a live game.

@Borax945: You can also set a threshold alert to remind you when you have reached say 75% of your bundle if you enter say 200GB for the Data Plan (make sure to select GB not MB) and then enter 75 in the Remind Me When box. I think you will only see the alert when you sign into your router.

I think the LED in front also flashes red, or that could be at 100% usage, not too sure.

@Jason-ZA: If you set the router to disconnect at 100% usage then the light should turn red I would guess. I will try to check when I hit the 75% threshold and also whether it turns red if I don't choose to disconnect after reaching 100%. Let us know if you discover any other alerts.

I am using the ZTE MC801A, but I am sure the data usage functionality probably works the same.
I dont ever come close to using 300GB in a month though since its just my backup solution, but I will probably find out oneday if there is a really long frogfoot outage :D

Any Plans from Cool Ideas to do Telkom LTE?

With more lenient restrictions?

We are currently using MTN Shesh@600(GB) for R459 monthly.

Cool Ideas Vodacom do not enforce restrictions yet, and when will this change?
