Cool Ideas Fixed 5G/4G Feedback Thread

We have used a black Friday LTE deal from Vodacom in the past, it was 400+400 GB, until it expired and reverted back to normal pricing - had issues though, had to restart the router regularly with " no internet " issues.

Used Telkom with prepaid Anytime LTE 1TB for R699 something - had connectivity and throttling issues and they don't allow P2P traffic, so couldn't use Stremio with Torrentio Lite add-on, even with using a free VPN like Proton on Android TV.

No issues with MTN.
 
We only use 300ish GB per month.

Never going back to the fibre monopoly.
 
Any Plans from Cool Ideas to do Telkom LTE?

With more lenient restrictions?

Yeah we have everything in place, I dont think they have discussed products yet.
 
Internet just died for me at 11pm. Restarting the router doesn't do anything. Anyone else?

Same thing just happened again. No internet, just after 11pm. This time I have half red, half white light on the router. No network detected.

Hi, probably coincidence. Im not seeing any drops in traffic over our NNI

If it doesnt recover please log as normal for me.
 
Hi All, if we have any related issues we will report and confirm them here. If not it could just be 5G being 5G, it will never be as stable as a fixed medium at the end of the day.

That being said if it is ongoing then we need to try and assist in fixing it.

It's just been the last two evenings were there was a disconnect at just after 11pm which is something new. Haven't experienced any disconnects or problems otherwise (except for the morning disconnects that was happening over a month ago which seems to be resolved). I've been online around 15hrs per day for the last few weeks without issue.

Won't be online tonight to monitor though.

So far the disconnects all happen at the exact time and when it comes back latency takes an hour to settle at least in my case, it also could just be the router switching to 3G but I cannot check as the router is in the office but today on arrival the ZTE was on 3G after the disconnect

No I get you, I am just saying if its something we're aware of we will mention it.
 
SA play Czechia tonight in the World Cup at 6PM SA time so I won't be surprised if the Vodacom network takes some strain ! 🇿🇦🇨🇿⚽
