Cricket: International Discussion Thread

What a mess that session was (well, if you're a Black Cap supporter that is...)

Lunch 39/6 --- and a bittersweet moment (?) for McCullum

The stuff of dreams for England, Ben Stokes, Brendon McCullum and Matthew Potts this morning

WTF is up with NZ? They all peaked for the World Test Championship and now they’re complacent has-beens?

Problem is that it has been all out white ball cricket for the last few months. Think their last test was against us in Feb. I don't think their prep has been the best for this test. I certainly haven't seen news about any multi-day warm up matches. I'm sure they'll put on a better showing as their test cricket season continues. Difficult (and unfair) to judge them on one innings that went pear shaped.

Oh yeah, that’s true. I don't think they played an invitational XI or anything. Same as us when we toured NZ.

There was one that they lost

The England players have been playing Country cricket for a couple of months now.

Been a bit of a collapse. Could've sworn I saw them at about 90 odd for 2...?

Barely 10 overs into Day 1 and it looks like New Zealand will be relying on the traditional English weather to come to their aid which, judging by the 5 day forecast, it may just do. 80% chance of rain on Saturday and Sunday and 70% chance on day 5 (Monday).
You didn't remember how England bats these days? Their batting consists of root and none.
Nz in with a chance of getting a lead here
