CRICKET: Nashua Cape Cobras supporters thread!

Okay people, the Cobras Squad for tonight is as follows:

Andrew Puttick, Herschelle Gibbs, Henry Davids, Stiaan van Zyl, Richard Levi, Vernon Philander, Tyron Henderson, Rory Kleinveldt, Ryan Canning, Con de Lange, Charl Langeveldt and John Geohegan.

This is according to the Cape Times which I have with me today.

Good Luck Cobras!
I know they will show the Nashua Dolphins what happens to visitors who come to our house!

Great. I will definately watch. Will be great to see Richard Levi play, another good young talent to come out of Wynberg Boys. Also have heard some good reports on John Geohegan, if I remember correctly from UCT.

It's fantastic seeing guys I went to school with playing on TV. :D

We won!!!! by 11 runs, it was sooooooooooo much fun.

Pro20 games are definately more fun than the normal 40 over domestic games.
Tickets are R40 (for grass) which is R10 more than normal.

Total blast!!!

Also, its more packed (alot more people attend Pro20 games)

Also watched the game. We did struggle a bit and if the Dolphins had held onto some of the catches the game would have been a lot tighter. I thing the south easter helped us out a bit! We will improve for the next game I am sure.

Cobras Captain Joins Eagles

Con de Lange, captain of the Cape Cobras, says he has reasons for making himself available to play for the Diamond Eagles next cricket season.

The 27-year-old left-arm spinner, who was re-appointed as captain of the Cobras after the departure of Justin Kemp, has discussed his reasons with the Cape franchise and is unwilling to elaborate.

"There are a few reasons," he said on Wednesday. "I have spoken to the Cobras and I prefer to keep them to myself."

He did indicate, however, that he had felt his game was stagnating with the Cobras.

Corrie van Zyl, coach of the Diamond Eagles, had spoken to him about his future and he had then left matters in the hands of his agent, De Lange said.

He was looking forward to continue his career with the Diamond Eagles where there were good structures in place, he added.

The versatile De Lange could take over the role that Nicky Bojé held until he left to play in the Indian rebel series.

De Lange is best remembered for his bowling in last season's domestic limited-overs competition in which he topped the list by taking 20 wickets, enabling the Cobras to win the trophy.

He was named man of the match after taking 4-40 in the final.

He is also a skilful batsman who has made a first-class century and has opened the batting for the Cobras.

De Lange plans to visit Bloemfontein before leaving for Scotland at the end of the season to turn out, for the fifth consecutive season, for the Premier League club Ferguslie.

God damn it!!!!!!

Guys, don't forget, the Titans play the Cobras today in a Pro20 game today.
Game starts at 6pm, should be on TV, but I'm not sure what channel.
