Cricket: Test Cricket

He is neither a front line bowler nor a batsman in its own right and an all-rounder at best...certainly no Kallis.

ROFL :D Comparing ANYONE to Kallis is a bit rough. About the only person that can be compared to Kallis is Sobers.

And yes they IMO are the two greatest all roundersto have ever played so far :p:D

In the past 4 yrs, since last Ashes, he has:

He is neither a front line bowler nor a batsman in its own right and an all-rounder at best...certainly no Kallis.

And...

With those stats...you'd be urging him to go right away.

Great stats for a pom. Klusener and Pollock were also better statswise.
But they rate him because he's won them a few matches, inspires the team etc...

An hour to go till 2nd test starts. :)

Good info there Ozzie - however you listen to the English in the build up you'd been inclined to believe they'd have handed the Ashes over to the Aussies without a ball being bowled had Freddie not been available for this series.

Maybe you missed this part of OC's post:
In the 25 matches that Flintoff has missed since 2005, England have won 12, drawn 10 and lost on only three occasions. In the 23 matches in which he has been present, those numbers are almost exactly reversed - won 3, drawn 7, lost 13.

Flintoff is probably the most over-rated player in world cricket at the moment, and has been for some time (see his IPL price and match returns for more evidence).

With those stats when he was missing who was england's opposition just as a matter of interest?

Might be rather harsh if the games he played were against the likes of SA, india etc and the games he did not play where against weak opposition.

Yep, apparently it's going to rain tomorrow so unless Australia pull off a demolition job in England's second innings it's s drsw.

We know the aussies attack have limitations but remember the first test, they took 19 wickets and came so close to winning, hardly a poor effort with the bowling attack he has at the moment.

Why is he being blamed because they now have bowling limitation? It is like i have been saying, ricky does not have the star studded team anymore to dominate world cricket, this is not due to his captaincy.

We you don't have the best attack anymore you need to be more innovative and set better fields. Anyone could throw the ball to warne and mcgrath and ask them to win you the game. It takes a better captain to win the game with a limited attack. It was quite interesting yesterday listening to warnie and how he would set the field.

Strange though when the stars were in the team the aussies dominated test cricket, ricky ponting won 16 test matches on the trot.

Yea he must be really bad.

You're lucky that you can watch it.

I have MNET and CSN on an old decoder and all they show is Tour de France and Golf.
F all cricket. :(
