Not sure about always though , see response below from Feb 2016

Absolutely no idea. We're all truly gutted and they make no sense to us considering past ratings; considering that we operate (and have for some time) the network uncontended; considering that we have the most qualified and fastest support by a country-mile. I don't know.

Nothing?

It was merely a case of there being enough capacity they could run uncapped with now shaping being applied ever.

Usage has gone up and now shaping is being applied where needed. This has always been their policy.

Yes?

That was February. It is now March. If usage has spiked for whatever reason accross multiple clients that they now require to shape said customers on certain protocols - per their policies - they are free to do so to minimize the total network impact. Just like any other ISP.

Easy now , I`m not attacking. Hence my question , WHAT CHANGED ? If it`s general usage , fine I understand that. Now that you enlighten me. Thank you so much !!

I believe that was in reference to Crystal Web running the network uncontended as a feasability test, I believe DJ referred to it earlier on in this thread, just not sure where.

I just read that we'll be getting Fibre from Telkom in July (yeah right). What are the costs for a Crystal Web account on Fibre?

IIrc any normal cap account would work, but you still need to hire the line somehow. How does it all fit together?

There's an issue on the Cape Town point of presence that the guys are working on...

Something is a bit hinky with IS today, getting packet loss and high pings on both local and international. Seems to bork out at like hop 4 or 5. Tried CW and WA and Mweb with Mweb being hunky dory while the other 2 are in the doldrums. Anyone else?

And why the heck does Pingtest not have any Africa servers anymore :wtf:

This is one where if it goes via the support channels the guys escalate to me to resolve with the correct data that I require on my side, so can you report it there so the guys can send me the relevant info, else we'll be back and forth here quite a few times and it will take quite some time as I have a 6pm meeting my side as well...

Yeah I've noticed high latency in STO tonight.
