Cyberpunk 2077

I prefer 3rd person for open world games where driving is involved. Hate driving in 1st person. I don't mind 1st person in other open world games such as Skyrim/Fallout. I prefer 1st person in those games. For some weird reason I prefer 3rd person in other games such as Mass Effect/Dragon Age. Don't know why.

But I think 3rd person in Cyberpunk would have been better.
 
As far as I can tell from the gameplay footage, you can switch to 3rd person while driving a vehicle.
 
Yeah I saw that as well. Just thought the game is now 100% 1st person. If I can still drive in 3rd person then cool beans, the game sounds perfect!

Watching this now only. The textures look a bit washed out and don't have a lot of detail. I thought the initial gameplay video looked better but checked that it also has bad textures.

Or maybe it's the lighting. Think they are going for that hyper realistic look which sometimes doesn't look so good in games vs a more crisp and colourful world.

The yt compression on that footage is bad, even at 4k i get lots of colour banding and 'blocking'.

From what they're saying everything will eventually be 1st person.
 
Guess we'll just have to wait and see. They still have about a year to figure things out I think. Right now they're saying players will be able to switch between 1st and 3rd person for driving while everything else is in 1st person only. If it stays like that then I'm cool. I've tried 1st person driving in GTAV and it's terrible. It doesn't work for me.

It's the same in Elder Scrolls. I play the entire game in 1st person but when I'm on a horse I switch to 3rd person.

Don't screw it up for me CD Projekt!

I wonder whether they on purpose postponed the launch date, they moved it to the latest point in 2020s current announcement cycle. Maybe they want to measure themselves against any innovative titles coming out and make their own implementations to improve thereon. Who knows...

At least the game will be in a better state than it would have been.

I guess Vampire: The Masquerade 2 will be the next announced postponement :whistling:
