D-link Dl-524 change private address and error message

Hi folks

I have got Dl-524 I tried to change the default ip address from 192.168.0.1 to 172.17.0.1/16, but message poped up :

The reason that I have changed ip address because I would like to have VPN connection between site to site and one site has already nework address of 192.168.0.x/24.

Although without even knowing the reason I should have been able to change ip address from default to whatever I like (of course private ip address) ,,,,Shouldn't I ?

messed up, but i doubt you actually need a /16 range anyways...
maybe do a firmware upgrade if you want to resolve it, personally, i would leave it as is..
