DA Wants H.I.V Testing Without Consent

This is exactly what I meant with that Taxi driver being convicted of murder...

So if I have HIV and I mislead or Lie to get laid about my status and I do infect someone knowing the risks involved but withheld it from the other party then you don't think I should bare some responsibility of getting the other person infected?

I'm fk'ng dumbstruck. Are you seriously saying this?
Frankly I'm now seriously questioning your grasp on the English language.

"No they are both being irresponsible. Both are to blame."

I mean come on man serious :wtf: here. It was the first line of the post you quoted man. This is inexcusable. Go to the blackboard and write "I will bother to actually read other people's posts before I comment on them" 500 times.

So if you knowingly lie to someone about your status that is not a bad thing?
Who said this? :wtf:

I understand if someone takes a chance but if you blatantly lie about your status you should go to jail.
Why? Ultimately the decision not to use a condom lies also with the person accepting the lie. It takes 2 people to agree to unprotected sex, not 1. You can't just blame one person and treat the other as an innocent victim.

Who knows maybe the condom breaks or the sex gets a bit rough.
As I said before if a condom was used both parties have taken all practical precautions to prevent transmission so you have no point there whatsoever.

I am fairly certain 99% of people won't have protected sex with an hiv infected person, safe or unsafe.
Yea you're now just sucking unsubstantiated numbers out of your ass.

The fact that people find it fine to lie about your staus shocks me slightly in all honesty,
Who finds it fine? You misrepresenting me again? You like doing this? Does it give you a buzz to make this schit up?

Well i am not misrepresenting what you say but you never said the person lying about their status should take much of the blame as it takes two to tango. So basically if someone lies about their status they should not take all the blame or even be prosecuted. Basically as it stands you can knowingly infect people without so much as an attempted murder charge.

Anyways i see what you are saying but could you give us some measures that could be taken to curb the infection rate? Whatever we are doing is not working. I cannot really recall what your opinion was on qatar kicking that journalist out who never disclosed their HIV status. To me that seems like the only way to ensure it does not spread like wildfire.

i'm sure i heard some independent body state the hiv infection rate is falling in south africa.

2. Secondly, having unprotected sex is a choice (unless in cases of rape). So why blame the virus carrier when the victim also decided to play along in the dangerous game of roulette by having unprotected sex.

What about a woman who only ever had unprotected sex with her husband of 15 years... But caught HIV from him after he caught it from a prostitute on a business trip? She's the victim here and decidedly NOT to blame.

She is not a victim, we all like to play victim. If the husbands cheats, then she shouldn't have been with him in the first place. I did the same mistake, I only have myself to blame, no one else.

Wow.

How many are infected from sleeping around or casual sex?
How many from needles?
How many from Blood Transfusions?
How many from helping someone with a cut/wound etc and caught it that way?

I would say 95% sleeping around the other 5% will cover rape, needles and so on. Aids is taking over africa purely because there are no effective measures in place to curb it but it's all good, people must have their rights and so on.

To me i don't give a shyte, it keeps the population down and the drug companies make an absolute mint on their drugs. Plus we made so much cash from aids goodies.

I just hope more countries do what qatar did and ensure aids won't become rampant in their countries.

Because it is very easy to inadvertently spread ebola & swine flu (even normal contact can do that), whilst the spread of HIV is mostly limited to sexual encounters and other avenues which can be guarded against. If I had HIV & was in the same room as you, you wouldn't catch it whereas the same cannot be said about swine flu or ebola.

Yet AIDS kills more people than both, as such your argument holds little merit as the HI virus has spread far more - even if it is an consequence of human behaviour. The mode of transport is irrelevant when the virus is so prevalent.

On a further note, ebola is spread only by bodily fluids - as is AIDS. The only reason ebola receives attention is due to the rapidity of death, but both are death sentences.

Exactly but some people fail to grasp it.

Type into google "AIDS is not a death sentence" and use "pages from South Africa" and see what comes up.

That's also why it's taken so seriously. It can spread so widely without the victims even knowing about it.

Wow... are you really trying to downplay a terminal virus (that has a near 100% kill rate)?

This passage from the first link of what you suggested shows us why what Zille suggests is a good idea:

"A lot is at stake. AIDS kills people in their most productive years. As a result, businesses in places where workers are sick and dying are losing a lot of money. And countries with large populations of people suffering with AIDS risk becoming unstable and susceptible to the forces of lawlessness, famine, terror and the demagogic appeals of dictators. Once the disease reaches epidemic proportions, it is much more difficult for a poor country to stabilize its democracy, grow its economy or emerge as a responsible partner in the global community."

ME???????

I do not work for the guavament, I am in fact telling you what the guavament tell the public. If it is a killer that has a near 100% kill rate, why does the guavament tell people it is not a death sentence?

Probably working on people`s perceptions to take some stigmata away. Its almost 100% terminal. Sure you can live a little longer now, but its not like diabetes like theyre trying to con people that it is like.

I see they have extended life spans from 7 years to 24 years though.

And your point is?

Are you saying HIV and AIDS is only cause by rape?

What I am saying are Jack Russels are really cool dogs. Since you got, "Are you saying HIV and AIDS is only cause by rape?" from what I typed, I am sure you will get the jack russel comment as well.

But, in some ways, AIDS does lead to rape. Especially with the virgin myth strong in rural areas (which is why SA has such high baby rape figures).
