data usage policy on RAIN

Good question. Nobody has an answer yet.
I continued downloading i think i reached around 1.7tb then they sent another email notifying me that it is a bonafide mobile service and i should notr abuse but i ignored the email. but i think if you hit 2tb they will cut off yourservices for a day or more. but not more than 2days. Its just my opinion. Do not quote me on that. Anyway nowadays i do not download much i already have all the games i need so my usage is usually around 500 to 700gb nowadays .

So it is confirmed that everyone who said there was a 1TB hardcap was wrong. I wonder if we'll see any apologies. #humblepie

That is a relief
ordered a HUAWEI Range Extender so will move my router into the sweet spot again and put the Huawei Range extender in a good spot hopefully i can pick up full speed with the Range Extender when my router is in the sweet spot

I haven't seen anyone actually read/post the FUP they do have on their website, but TL;DR anyway.

Where Rain needs to ensure that all Subscribers have fair and equal use of the Services offered by Rain and to protect the integrity of its network, Rain reserves the right, and will take necessary steps, to prevent improper or excessive usage thereof. The action that Rain may take includes, but is not limited to:
11.1.4.1
limiting throughput;
11.1.4.2
preventing or limiting service through specific ports or communication protocols; and/or
11.1.4.3
complete termination of service to Subscribers who grossly abuse the network through improper or excessive usage.

Also, might I add:

Use the Rain network in a manner that exceeds the then current bandwidth, data storage or other limitations on the Rain Service, or puts an excessive burden on the limitations of the Rain network;

Now, I have no idea when that may have been added to their Fair Usage Policy, but as a customer who agreed to these ToCs, they're allowed to essentially choke up your connection if and when you are abusing it.

Whether or not 1TB can be seen as excessive is up to Rain's discretion, but the general consensus from a mobile network provider's perspective is that it is. Even larger providers such as AT&T have a 1TB cap on usage. Generally most families hardly go over 1TB and using that much is streaming nearly 100+ hours of 4K video. Slow down, bud.

I have no problem with that. What I have a problem with is that it isn't stated anywhere so they can decide anything on a whim. Fact is if they advertise it as 1TB people will be asking where the cheaper packages are. Rain knows uncapped for all is the only model that really works so that everyone both low and high data users pay the same.

The do have the right to cut you off should they feel you are abusing the service

Yeah, I strongly doubt they'd do it out of the blue though. If you get a message about using too much, then you're at risk of them being like "lol, no we're cutting you off for the rest of your billing cycle"
