It's just for a few days.
What's the reason?
To get you to upgrade to Premium when they take it away, by working on the emotion (one of excitement) you exhibited in your previous post.

My comment not meant as a criticism ; they've periodically done this type of thing to lower packages (I'm on) by giving channels to a higher package for a weekend or a week ; to show what you're missing & entice you to upgrade.

And while we're at it - those watching pop-up movies 111, some decoders have their audio swapped around (adult / family)
If anyone's into seeing Worldskills Africa 2022 in Swakopmund, I presume that's why Namibia's main public channel 282 NBC 1 is now available to all here. This channel is normally hidden from view for standard rights reasons.

Looks like the e channels are going on. Not a date mistake either as the non-SA version 250 eTV Africa did go off this morning.
We're quite pleased, some good oldies on 140. And 250 was a bit of a white elephant I think, never even converted to widescreen.
guide.dstv.com has not been working this week. The tv guide at dstv.com is a mess. You change from premium to compact to weed out the channels you don't have and it is still showing all the channels. All 4 mnet movie channels are sharing the same data. They don't even have the correct channel numbers for those 4 mnet movie channels: 104 Movies 1, 105 Movies 3, 106 Movies 2 & 108 Movies 4. Can't they do anything right?
I hope they not abandoning the old online guide. Generally I don't want to use the guide at dstv.com. I've never liked the format & that was before I realized the mess it was in.

The Now guide (dstv.com) stopped working at the same time, then they only "fixed" that one. I've all but given up on this company.
The dingbats from DStv sent me an SMS this afternoon, to upgrade to a package 2 above mine (I downgraded last month, as grew tired of watching so much TV).
They're offering R100 pm off for 3 months, and after clicking on the link, the offer's apparently open to me until the 18th May.
Problem is, when I send a "Hi" on WhatsApp as instructed, they don't show the offer within my profile as expected.
Why send an SMS offer for something they've not implemented ?
That said, I'm prepared to wait until close to that date, and take the 3 months from the 1st June.
I wonder if they'll sort themselves out & it'll become available to me sometime before the 18th May.
By the way, they were fairly aggressively advertising this type of thing a few months ago on DStv itself, and when I phoned them (because it also wasn't offered within their WhatsApp app), after the agent checked with whoever, I was told the offer was no longer available.
Terrible lack of implementation - on both accounts - by such a big company.
Doubt this happens (much) in other countries and if it does, they get called out for it big time and have to discount heavily or make up via some other arrangement, but not here.

I'm finally convincing other family members to downgrade to family, because of the problem of having too much tv to watch.
http://guide.dstv.com/ is now completely down. I wonder if it is gone permanently. They would get rid of the better option.
As far as the "All 4 mnet movie channels are sharing the same data" issue I've discovered that only happens when you change to another package option. I'm just going to keep the default option premium set and wade through all the channels.

The only "working" Now-guide is getting worse - some channels stop their info 2 days ago with no entries after early morning except one around 23:00, and some others have double entries around the 23:00 time.
Does MC actually think this shyte is going to keep customers??

Where to find missing synopses for 101 M-Net - type in channel 902 (won't work in the guide), will take you to the terrestrial version of M-Net channel and its listings where quite often the series synopsis wanted is already there.
Now try figure out why. Individual lazy, undisciplined staff? Lack of staff for busy channels? African time?
(Don't worry that your decoder colours have changed from blue to black, will reset after the reboot.)

The old guide has been working fine for a while now. It took them more than 2 weeks to correct it. Did somebody code drunk, break the whole thing and they had to rebuild it from scratch?
On a side note; channel 117 used to have its own schedule site. You could see what was coming for the month. That has been down for at least a week now. I suspect it is gone for good. Universal face book page links to dstv.
