Diablo 3 - Builds thread

Hopefully I'll be able to have some sort of guage by my survivability in Act 4 of Hell.

I can run you Hellish Whismyshire, mobs hit like Inferno, have Inferno hp and retain 3x affixes as in Hell difficulty
 
Why must you dual wield? You only get the bonus from weapons master from whats in your main hand.
Overpower deals less damage than revenge (165 vs 220), but heals for more (8 vs 5)
I dont get the dex thing? It only adds dodge. If thats what you are after, dont go above 500 dex (which is 30% dodge).

Then it may be glitched.... Using a mighty weapon in my offhand, I definitely see the generation of Fury as well as receiving the bonus crit%.... if it is bugged, I hope it's one that they leave....

I've just started Inferno with my Wizard and the elites are handing it to me big time. As long as I have room to maneuvour I'm reasonably fine, although it takes ages to kill them, but as soon as it's confined space I'm dead as a doornail.

Seems my 15k DPS, 29k life and 5k armor needs some serious work.

Why that high life? For early act 1 it is all about kiting and not getting hit. Getting dps over 40k seems more like a goal for a wizzard, since you will never really be able to "tank" mobs? 5k Armour :O that is more than my monk

When my Wiz did Act 1 it was with +- 24k dps, 30k ish HP (came with the gear, did not care what it was tbh, 20 would have been fine). No idea what my armor was.
 
Do you guys remember what your weapon stats where? I have a 840 wand. I think damage wise my character isn't up to things. Guess I'll have to up my intelligence or find a much better weapon.
 
For a wizzard I would aim to get mostly pure intel items. (crit, crit damage, IAS modifiers on them as well). My wiz is only level 40+ though :) Then I guess work on health to at least not get a one shot death, but like mentioned your aim in inferno is to never get hit in the first place. I hate the hit and run of range play so I have left my DH in act 1 inferno and focus on my monk. I like to tip-toe with the worst Elites the game can through at me, and have that accomplishment at the end of the fight that I have done it!

Honestly I feel that all they did was validate the dps builds currently flying around, by lowering the incoming damage in Inferno, as opposed to having a ranged class build that can take 'more hits'.

From what I'd read on the US forums the dmg is still there, but its just more in line for melee so we can actually take hits and not require top tier gear to be able to do Act 3 properly. I'll test it after work and give my own opinion.

Darn just read how they've broken the WD bear spell.

I am running out of reason to stay with my WD.

Not that I can read a whole lot, but it seems like it's broken until 1.0.4??
Is that those rushing creatures??

Also hoping i can get further than Maghda on my Barb after the patch now .... really wasn't looking forward to farming act1 for the next couple of months .. already tired of looking at the Butchers ugly mug every night :p

I think I was a little unclear on my post.... I was referring mainly to ranged character DPS builds.... Wyatt said that he was hoping ranged classes would move away from the "glass cannon" mentality with the decreased damage. All that would mean to me is either stay the same and live a little longer, or just find things to even further max out my DPS and get back to the survivability pre 1.0.3, but deal a lot more damage :(

My dislike for the monk is transferring to other classes now.... :D

Yeah going to do the same, just hoping my dps drop isn't that bad,
@ Phree/Archer, we going to jam high levels to night.

Bats suck. And my 1st repair charge (gear yellow): 28k gold. Time to put Inferno on hold.
