I have signed into the Cell C and DiData fixed LTE deal which is priced R500 less than Rain's package for 200 gig. Didata also services Rain. Ted, Apple TV, YouTube, and Netflix among others bomb out. Even the Ookla tests bombs out from time to time. Does anyone know if these are being throttled to meetthe pricing model being used? All lights on the router are at the correct colours, etc but only light stuff like emails work.
I have been robbed before but this time I feel like I am being robbed by people with MBAs; just more sophisticated ways of doing the same thing that thugs do. My account has been debited as soon as the modem was delivered but I have not done any work since then. I had to buy 1gig at R160 from MTN and use this as a hotspot. I am seriously considering going to adsl but dread the wait time for a Telkom line - more unproductive time and costs while I wait.
Whats next? Do I emmigrate to get the service I want? These are not pickpockets or housebreakers and hijackers but educated corporate types designing the deals with an understanding of the constraints of the infrastructure and software, etc but they still put it out into the SA market.
