I phoned the Cell C call centre this morning in order to enquire with regards to the documents required to take out the R149 Data Contract in the business name.

They advised that I need:
* 3 month bank statements (only have 2 as company only started trading in Sept)
* My ID
* CK docs
* Proof of address for cc (took my rental invoice)

So, I get to the OR Tambo branch this morning and the guy there refuses to assist me for not having 3 months bank statements. After losing my temper a bit I left, but decided to go back to get his name in order to raise the issue on the forum. Upon return the manager, Olivia, intervenes. Fortunately sanity prevailed and she assisted me.

Unfortunately, they do not have any contract agreements for business accounts, hence she modified the application for individuals and I completed the business info in the personal particulars fields. She then requested a copy of my VAT registration. Frustration again due to Call Centre not informing me that I need the VAT reg (what if I wasn't registered for VAT?).

Fortunately I had an electronic copy, so Olivia let me use the Laptop instore to sign into my gmail account and forward copies to her.

:thumbsup: to Olivia for good customer service.

However, I would like to know why the Call Centre can't give the correct info and why the branches don't have business application forms? :confused:

Will I have coverage in Bonaero Park, Kempton Park, right next to OR Tambo?

Does anyone have a link to the Cell C data coverage map? I can only find the call network coverage ontheir site.

Hi PhreakBoy!

You are well within the coverage range, so you shouldnt have a problem reaching a broadband speed of up to 21Mbps with your 2GB speed stick.
here's a link to the coverage map.

Thanks for the response, however that map does not differentiate between call coverage and data coverage. Are you confident now that you would have full speed data coverage everywhere their is call coverage?

I don't understand why you need to provide a VAT registration certificate? A lot of businesses are not registered for VAT, and don't need to be.

Hi PhreakBoy

Click on the "Legend" tab on the right & you can turn off the top 2 if you like

To Trevor

Please explain what the difference is between taking out a contract in my personal name vs business.

Ok.

Then explain why the Call Centre gave me a list of required documents.

And what if I take the prepaid option?
