What products are needed to get the 100% off for gym?

Currently I have Discovery Bank and Vitality money. (bank account is 7 days old, everything looks broken).

Firstly, you should also have the Discovery app. You should also have Discovery Vitality. If you dont have that, you'll have to have it, to fully take advantage of the bank. It costs R249 a month.

Then you'll need to create accounts with the reward partners you'd like cashback and discounts from. For example, I have an account with Clicks, Woolies and PnP and link them to my Discovery account.

There are finer details to all this but this is just a summary.

So discovery lied a bit there in their marketing materials RE the rewards for banking then. Because now a R400 p/m bank account which is suppose to include the Vitality thing means it will cost me R650 p/m to bank with them and get rewards.

I don't see how that bank will survive, FNB is decades ahead of them and does not cost anything.

Exactly my thoughts . They think a free iPhone that you pay for will be a game changer . I am good at these things and they not bang for buck

I’m a newbie to Discovery , all very confusing in terms of the addons to gain the full benefit

Gym , food , iphone , points etc

How much will it cost me in monthly bank charges and what addons are required

Break down of the initial bank charges
Break down of the addons and their costs
What is the min required to gain any benefit

Thanks in advance

First you need to select a bank account. Do you want a transaction account, credit card or an account that has both the transaction account and credit together? If you already have one, what account do you have an what colour?

Nada , nothing with Discovery as a whole.
I would go with a transaction account and a CC

I don't think you need those at all. I don't have life insurance and also have the cheapest hospital plan available. Still get a fair bit back from being on Diamond for Health and Bank. You can get cashback with Discovery Life insurance I believe, but being on Vitality does nothing extra for your medical aid. It's just an add-on rewards programme.

Well you can't sign up for Vitality without having one of those. So you will have to have either of those first.

4.3. Who qualifies as a main member To be a main member of Vitality, you must make a monthly payment (or consent to a third party making the payment on your behalf) to Vitality for the programme and be one of the following:
4.3.1. A principle member of a medical scheme administered by Discovery Health.
4.3.2. A policyholder of a Discovery Life policy paying a minimum premium of at least R350 or an integrated life plan policyholder paying a minimum premium of at least R200 and for Smart Life plan policyholders paying a minimum premium of at least R100.
4.3.3. An employee of an employer who has taken out Discovery Life Group Risk cover. At least 50% of the Group Risk Life Plan policy holders must also be members of a Medical Scheme administered by Discovery Health.
You are only allowed to have one Vitality membership, regardless of whether you have taken out more than one of the above products.

Yet Discovery pushed their bank on me saying vitality and vitality money is included. They lied.
