Points to miles conversion was discontinued last year.

How much will it cost me in monthly bank charges and what addons are required

Break down of the initial bank charges

First you need to select a bank account. Do you want a transaction account, credit card or an account that has both the transaction account and credit together? If you already have one, what account do you have an what colour?

Nada , nothing with Discovery as a whole.
I would go with a transaction account and a CC

You need life insurance or medical to get the full benifit of vitality.

I don't think you need those at all. I don't have life insurance and also have the cheapest hospital plan available. Still get a fair bit back from being on Diamond for Health and Bank. You can get cashback with Discovery Life insurance I believe, but being on Vitality does nothing extra for your medical aid. It's just an add-on rewards programme.

Well you can't sign up for Vitality without having one of those. So you will have to have either of those first.

4.3. Who qualifies as a main member To be a main member of Vitality, you must make a monthly payment (or consent to a third party making the payment on your behalf) to Vitality for the programme and be one of the following:
4.3.1. A principle member of a medical scheme administered by Discovery Health.
4.3.2. A policyholder of a Discovery Life policy paying a minimum premium of at least R350 or an integrated life plan policyholder paying a minimum premium of at least R200 and for Smart Life plan policyholders paying a minimum premium of at least R100.
4.3.3. An employee of an employer who has taken out Discovery Life Group Risk cover. At least 50% of the Group Risk Life Plan policy holders must also be members of a Medical Scheme administered by Discovery Health.
You are only allowed to have one Vitality membership, regardless of whether you have taken out more than one of the above products.

Has anyone figured out how the fuel rewards on the discovery bank side tie in with the fuel rewards for discovery car insurance?

They seem to be completely separate fuel rewards. The bank card doesn't require a fuel card though does it? I have just used my discovery cc to fill fuel so I am still waiting for cash back on that.

Also, is the installation of the tracking device - not their DQ-vitality device - safe? I am worried that it will interfer with the electronics in the car.

Yes you can use it so long. Eft done before 12pm will clear at around 7pm

I currently have medical and vitality and frequent virgin active. Will it be worth it to make the switch to Discovery Bank from Capitec? Or just get the credit card for Discovery Miles?

Money should be in just now. Did an EFT yesterday at around 15h00 and the money was in just after 18h00. I think the cutoff is around 16h00 so you just missed it yesterday.
