Quick question, assume you're starting from scratch...

how much does it cost you to get to Gold? Also want to know how long does it take to reach gold in a year?

I already go to a gym (not a virgin active or planet fitness though).

I assume that there's probably guys here that make it to gold/diamond with zero extra costs?

It took me 7 weeks to get to gold. I did all the fitness and health checks. I also ran 2 half marathons and a 15k. The balance is achieving the weekly goal. Cost? R450 for the fitness check and entry fees for the races.
 
It took me about 4 months to achieve my diamond again this year, only did health check(one a year free) and rest was fitness activitiesand gym.visits

Well, cost will for the most part be a device.

Other than that it depends on Cs activity of choice be it running then maybe up to 3k for a pair of shoes. Cycling could knock like 20 to 100k.

Tests are what, like R400ish for the pair.

Very much a long the line of how longs a piece of string.

Basically it could be really cheap or really expensive. I think on the cheapest you could get away at like 3kish.

Steps are basically worthless these days, you can get a max of like 14k points annually, but the tests would make up the shortfall.

Fastest i have gotten gold was 5 weeks. I intentionally take longer now to have pushed the tests to later in the year, less of a rush.

The days of making it with zero costs are long gone. I have been on Gold since my first year, 2009, and Diamond since 2012, most of those years not paying to win. This year it will take me the remainder of the year to maintain Diamond and that is after paying for the fitness test (because I failed 2 of the health check tests).

Unless you are super active and driven like Charles, twr and Cranial, I don't think it's a very good idea to join Vitality so late into the year, unless they give some huge bonus point award for joining part-way into a year? For someone new to how this all works, you probably want to activate Vitality in January (as early as possible basically). If you were to join now and you don't jump through the hoops flawlessly there's a good chance that you fail in getting to Gold. My 2 cents worth...

Your probably right, they have made getting points on health and fitness tests harder.

Even an active and fit person like myself does not get max points on either. I am hypertensive with white coat syndrome so passing the BP test is only slightly easier than getting into the playboy mansion for a weekend.

Hek as a cyclist I still don't max out on the fitness test which is cycling. It can be done, but this late in the year you do all your tests, do all your online **** immediately and then get the rest from being or even joining park runs or my runs.

Just remember the pr and mr are one per pair per week, so you won't get 600pts for doing both in the same week.

Gym booster is gone, not sure when it will die for current members, but no new sign ups from like 2m ago.

Flight booster also moved over.

No further details on that that I am aware of, but personally don't care if I loose that. Not opening up a bank aciunt to deal with more ever changing goal posts just for 200 bucks.

I make more than enough from the eBucks system which I have already mastered and it's only ever 2 to 3 years that I need to change something to align with that. Vitality is new, changes will be often initially.
 
Did anyone receive the extra play for an expired diamond?
Mine expired last week and I still have not received the extra play.

BTW, did anyone ever get 4 or 5 diamonds to claim anything substantial?

I didn't get the extra play 2 or 3 weeks ago. I emailed them, nothing. when I followed up they responded and they said I would get it this week, but again nothing. So I've emailed them again. If I don't get by next Wednesday I'm just going to give up on it.

Eish, no, I should have just used the two diamonds last week. This is not good from as Discovery's service is going downhill

Same here. So last Thursday a second diamond appeared in my active rewards and Wednesday I got a 3rd play. They did not bother to respond to any of my emails, or my Facebook post.

So Discovery responded to me and they tell me that the play I got this Wednesday was for the expired diamond not goals since I didn't reach my goal last week. I tell them that I didn't get any plays at all this week, I was expecting one for the expired diamond not for goals. They respond and say the reason I didn't get any plays this week is because I didn't reach my goal last week. I just responded now walking them through my query in the simplest English I can...

We are basically just going around in circles now...

I was not aware with the WW vouchers that the purchase amount has to be R100 or more. My total was R99.98 and the voucher wouldn't work. Had to buy something else to tip it over to more than R100 then it worked...
 
So we back to no healthy food and no healthy care benefit payouts?
