Discovery Vitality 2024

I'm talking with my legal-aid against taking action against Vitality. I bought into the Wahoo eco system since Vitality promoted it like hell. The Kickr 5, Tickr HRM 2, etc. However, at the time I was still using my Huawei Watch for vitality points. This has failed in the mean time.

I cycle 45 or 2x45 min per day, however I'm not getting any points, since they claim they no longer support Wahoo and my linked Strava apparently only sends "speed" to Discovery.

Vitality outright refuses to acknowledge this, and claims it is old images and that I'm lying. They further say that "it is no longer on the app" so it doesn't exist, but when I ask for an announcement in the change, they can't produce it.

I feel like this was false advertising on Vitality's part and anti-consumer behavior.

When I ride virtually I start my ride on my watch which only registers my heart rate and don't have a HRM linked, but when done in theory I have 2 rides based on the watch and Zwift and end up deleting the heart rate ride off Strava and keeping the Zwift one. I have a Garmin watch which then uploads that to Garmin which is linked to Vitality. Vitality don't want to know Strava only what the watch tells them via Garmin in my case.

It helps my OCD. Can’t look at the app for a whole year and see gold status, and know Adrian thinks I could be trying harder.
I don't think I'm making Diamond this year 😭

Last year was easy, owing to an administration change on my policy the exercise limits couldn't be properly imposed. I exercise regularly so that was of huge benefit to me.

good on you, someone needs to take them on for these stunts.

How does one cancel your Discovery Vitality Money subscription, but still keep your bank account open - I'm struggling to find any account settings options?

You cannot cancel Vitality Money. Fee is already built in to monthly account fee.

Why don't you want vitality money?
I've emigrated but need to keep my bank account in SA open for some time. Would rather not pay the additional fee for vitality money when I'm not currently spending from the account

Understandable but discovery will not allow for canceling Vitality money and keeping the account active. In their words:

Vitality Money is built into select products. For this reason, you cannot cancel your Vitality Money membership or close your Vitality Savings Account without closing your active Discovery Bank Transaction Account, Card Account or Suite

Does your watch not send heart rate, all I need to do is do any exercise with a heart rate at 60-69% or 70-79% and I get points.

If it doesn't maybe a heart rate strap will fix the issues. Possibly the watch is not syncing correctly and you can try the hauwei health app to connect (if that is still a thing)

Don't want to causes kak because a kickr is fing expensive for what it is.

Anyone's device / apps get unlinked from the app ? When I go to Vitality -> Devices in the app, my Garmin stuff is not there anymore. Weird thing is I do still seem to get points.

I don't have a watch, I have a Wahoo Kickr 5 bike & Wahoo Tickr 2 HRM, none of which is compatible with Vitality, however they still advertise it as "get vitality points with wahoo products".

Fair enough, thanks for the info.
But it is possible to cancel the credit card and just maintain the transaction and savings accounts?
Yeah this is possible. Better to tell them you want to downgrade from a Suite to a transactional account.

Try to pair the Wahoo Tickr 2 HRM to the Polar Beat app and record your heart rate that way for points. I have the original Wahoo Fitness Tickr Heartrate Belt and it pairs with Polar Beat just fine. Then you can pair your polar account with Discovery and get your points that way.

You know, in the mean time while you fighting discovery.

I don't use mine anymore since I have the Garmin Fenix watch, but pretty sure I tested this earlier this year, to compare the heart rate between the two.

Can anyone please confirm what to do after a year of Virgin Active membership with Vitality ? Do you just continue month to month or must a new contract be signed ?
