How's the quality with streamtvbox? Is a 4Mbps line good enough to watch without buffering?

Pretty much like netflix. Signed up for the monthly entertainment package, made sure NowTv was enabled on Unotelly, and that was it. The NowTv box won't play netflix (it does have several other channels like 4oD and iPlayer) but you can load Roku on it.
 
I just started the DSTV cancellation process, guess this was just the catalyst I needed .. :D
 
I'll pay for the privilege to watch movies & sport in HD on DSTV, looks fantastic on my 46'' Samsung LED.

Still beats having to buy the blu-ray for R299 a pop.

Watching Netflix in SD is not an option. :sick:

SD or HD quality?
Might Be an issue with My ISP if HD quality working for you.

My oldest doesn't touch DSTV anymore (Shes 8) Only on Netflix (Majority of the Disney shows are on Netflix), or what ever she asked me to download - The little one on the other hand is reliant on my wife , who unfortunately isn't as tech minded so DSTV Access until she decides to learn.
 
my wife got the Family package a few months ago, see how it is, but we have been seriasly considering canning it recently.
every odd night when we have the chance to watch something, it mostly ends up something that we've seen already, and we've had to skip about 3 times already, same frigin episode over and over.
a DSTV decoder with record abilities may solve part of the problem, can record stuff thats on, when we cant watch, and view when we have the time.... but i really sug to spend the extra money.
we have been so spoilt with NF and H, choose what we want to see, when we want to see it... its been hard the past 27days that Telkom lines stolen, no ADSL...
Even if DSTV can't (won't?) really offer similar service as NF, i think they are going to be squeezed more and more to look at something like that... people really prefer choice in what to view and when to view
 
No mention of top tv or whatever it's called now. Are they really that bad as an alternative?

Top TV cannot match up to DSTV in terms of content. Its that simple.

The recording function on my HD PVR2 is fantastic....and the option to pause live sports and movies.

I've got so many quality recorded movies on mine, haven't gotten around watching half of it. :eek:

:-) i've been a happy NF and Hulu customer for many months. been hard this past month that we had no phone service... while NF works over HSPA, it will cost too much in data... was stuck with reruns on DSTV. finally got a 'temporary' line replacement end last week, so DSTV way back on the priority list :-)

just saying, DSTV would do well to offer similar type service, or loose out
price increases come at a bad time, when we have to cough up so much more on other daily essentials
