DStv limiting concurrent streams from March 2022

Yikes. What a terrible decision even from a company famed for terrible decisions.

They should come and read the comments in this thread for a sense of how this is going to be received and play out.

Does this 1 stream view include the dish, or can you still have 1x dish and 1x device stream playing at the same time?

This excludes the dish as it is not using TCP/IP for the broadcast.

I'd assume it only applies to streaming.. so you can have a dish, extra view and still stream on one device.

Had to call on an aquaintance a few weeks ago, was priveleged to watch EPL, 1080p at 60FPS. That was almost good enough to make me ignore 4K ...

Need to improve my relationship there to the point, I can feel comfortable asking how/where/what.

There are other ways to watch F1.

I subscribed to F1 TV last year. Great service and much, much higher quality than DSTV. Proper high bitrate 1080p50. Not the 720p24 nonsense that DSTV streams.

Im looking for 4k streams but they are few and far between... I can definitely agree with you on the 50fps 1080p EPL... what a treat. You go back to a Supersport stream after that and you wanna vommit

I know for a fact there aren't for soccer, the SABC does show some weekend games but that could be about 30% of all the games.

Live stream on one pc, OBS studio virtual camera, private YouTube link = as many people as I feel like sharing the stream with.

It's a hassle, but I am sure you can automate it with the right browser plugin.

You do realise DSTV is way cheaper than the combination of subs for UFC, F1 and MotoGP? Then I also get the rugby and cricket... Why does that not make sense in your mind?
