honestly I was quite happy with the increase. It is less than inflation so I can accept that.

the only increase i like is an increase in my salary.

Can you get DSTV without MNET for R209 per month??
If so, I will cancel MNET - I only watch it for the series (CSI, Prison Break, ER). These I can rent from the video store. I only have to wait 6 months or so after it airs on MNET. Downloading it isn't for me.

Sounds like you need the compact subscription! Has what you want! Does not have Mnet... but has the series channel.

I was also told by multichoice I can negotiate a rate for just the F1 channels. That remains to be seen. If I get hold of someone I will let you guys know - apparently he's back on Monday.

I (and I think many others) would be interested in this, if the rate is reasonable. Otherwise, I'll be checking out what can get streamed over IP instead.

I'd also like to cancel the M-Net part of it. HTF can they justify that M-Net costs more than 100+ combined channels... I can't remember the last time I watched something on M-Net.

Agreed...I also want to cancel that..I just watch Carte Blance....and my girlfriends Binnelanders...which she can check on Kyk-Net...anyway....

Well all I watch is Supersport 1, 2, 3, 4. Its getting expensive but there is nothing else I can do except bite the bullet and pay the amount to watch the F1 this year! Won't miss it for the world or watch delayed broadcasts

f!@#$ mad ppl. I just got DSTV! I can have SABC and eTV (for which you pay TV license anyway over and above DSTV) + 23 DVDs a month for this rediculous price. What do i get for my extra money? A more frequently updated clock? I say to hell with them...I will join the boycot...just say when and where. They can cut me off anytime...i'm gonna cancel anyway.

I guess we know how they came up with that slogan. If they had half a brain between them they would take a look at how fast the telkom ship is sinking because of radical pricing and inferior service.

Once telkom media and the like start competing in this space watch them k@k themselves.

I am like Mike. I would die without my fix of all things sport.

Since there is no alternative and with no uncapped broadband pretty much have no choice but to take the pain. I need dstv to watch my sports so I will just have to accept this.

Looks like there are quiet a few of us in the same boat NONE of the packages except the premium have SS1-5 and ESPN.

I would love a package of just sport. They can toss out MNET, FTV, MTV, CNN ,BCC and all the other junk that comes with premium.

@Graduate: I did the same. I lived with the delayed broadcast at 1am on Sundays for a year until SABC 2/3 completely stopped showing the delayed broadcasts. I blame the fail A1GP.

I would love to get DSTV but at close to R500 screw it.

If they had any sense they would see people are struggling financially with all increases and this in my view is a luxury not a necessity and so people will start ditching them....idiots!!!
