Durban Beachfront Accommodation

Resurrecting old thread. We are thinking of 15-23 April getaway to Durban. Last time, we stayed in sun elangeni which was great but thinking of airbnb this time around.

Thinking of 3 days in Port shepstone, 3 days in Durban north/Umhlanga and 3 days in Umdloti/Dolphin coast.

Sounds ok?

Personally dont see why you would want to pack and unpack so many times.
Maybe Portshepstone is okay, but the difference between Umhlanga and Umdloti is negligable (even if you go further to Ballito, its not a far drive).

I hear you but every time we visit durban, it is usually 5 days and we only stay at one place and which kind of gets boring (especially breakfast - hence choosing airbnb flats now) after a while. Pack and unpack is not really issue for us - we are 3 so it is quick.

Incidentally, always stayed close to north beach in ALL our 4 visits. LOL - limited imagination & money. And yeah - one time inside lake eland nature reserve.

p.s. Maybe you are right. Looking to split only in 2 places now, will drive to other places for a day.

I would suggest further down South, possibly Margate/uvongo.

Also, Umhlanga is pretty close to Umdloti, choose 1 or the other and go further North.

Just suggestions.

Or you could just spend all 9 days in Phoenix, I guarantee you will never be the same person after

Heh. I stayed in durbs for a year but somehow didn't go to phoenix. Most of colleagues were from chatsworth or musgrave/berea if I recall.

i know the residents of Phoenix love referring to their suburb as part of Mount Edgecombe / Umhlanga :sneaky:
