Eskom load-shedding kicks in

When are we, the citizens of this country, going to draw a line under all this garbage and call time on it?

We moan and groan, but do nothing, and I'm wondering if there is a point at which people will stop moaning and start calling for consequences to rain down on those who are guilty of gross mismanagement and incompetence?

And don't look to the DA (or whoever) to save your bacon for you, they are just as corrupt because that is the nature of the system, no accountability = no honesty or integrity.

We urgently need to build accountability and reliable checks and balances into the system. We need to be able kick useless idiots out at any point. No politician should ever feel safe and secure in their cushy little job playing games with our money. One for me, one for roads, one for me, one for hospitals, one for me, one for schools, one for me, one for the military ... and so on.

I am 100% convinced that the ANC cannot be proud of inheriting a fully functioning country and having run it right into the ground where we are at today.

I really don't think that they give a hoot.

Anyone stupid enough to do this is not going to care about the consequences.

as a parastatal you can vote against the naartjies who put the people in place to run it.
Zuma and the Guptas? The people who are running it now are not responsible for the mess Eskom finds itself in. Voting for Ramaphosa's ANC won't be that much unreasonable, I believe in the leadership.

Nothing new.... pauper country just doing what paupers do

While the old racists definitely did run the country better, it's was very far from fully functioning for everyone. Function fully for some might be more accurate.

Not talking about prior to 94.

They did get a functioning country and just had to expand and grow it. Instead they burnt and crashed it.

In the context of the topic under discussion what fully functional country are we talking about, one where a tiny minority of the population had electricity and the majority had to fend for itself in the dark, the ANC messed up a lot but the notion of a fully functional country is a myth.

Functioning for some you mean....

And yes, they did mess up the parts that was working, they should have built on that. But then they wouldn't have been able to steal.

So they are going to retrench the excess employees and not be bullied by the unions?

you make it sound like the minority (white) had electricity, and the majority (black) had no electricity - but you know that is not true.

the more accurate version would be the overwhelming majority who never had electricity (and running water etc) were black.
i gain the distinct impression little has changed for that group over the last 20yrs or so
