One thing to he aware of: SANRAL must send you an invoice to the address you provided in terms of the National Road Traffic Act (basically the address on eNatis if I understand correctly) and that it does not need to be registered mail.

And the obvious/known fact that if you register with an eTag you agree to their terms and conditions and you'll have to pay.

I received a Scamral mail informing me I owe R475.15 as my vehicle passed under one toll gantry. I haven't received a VAT invoice though. Since the nearest Scamral “customer service centre” is 320km from here I have no intention to visit it.

I am looking forward to receiving a summons to appear in court!

I never said shut and register, read my post again. What is in for me, to have hassle free life and the least cost possible. i.e. keep more money in my account as possible. Why pay R1000 for something when I can get it for R450? It almost sounds like everyone wants to pay more

Do you drive a super big truck? There is no way at all R7 (average gantry fee) can grow that big. Does it say you only passed under one gantry?

We are already paying more by paying for e-tolls. The whole process of introducing it was suspect. Where did the money allocated to paying for the roads go in the first place?
