I can't speak for all companies or ISPs, but Afrihost has always been about winning for our clients. Cos when our clients win, we also thrive. It's never about squeezing profits out until the last drop :(

I must help not having investors pressuring your bosses :D

And apologies to AfriGuy, I assumed you two were the same people? On that note, why DO you have two reps?

IAt the end of the day, those "abusers" are our clients and also keep us in business, just like all our other clients - they also deserve our loyalty and respect.

My 2c - Use / Don't Use

Use - I am not with AH at the moment, but from my side - I really did like your response - it makes more sense to me, seeing as we are both in business. :D

And with all the excitement from this past hour or so, I need to go for a beer. Will have one for Fudzy, seriously and Afriguy too.

I'm running out of isps here. Mweb got me good and solid, had to pay for the extra month and everything. Axxess sounds like they would throttle me within 2 weeks. I'm on Openweb at the moment, but the internet is almost useless during the day and the only thing they're doing to fix it right now is to blame me for using the internet at night.

The only options left seem to be Afrihost and Webafrica. Can anyone give me some info on the experience with these guys? Throttling? Gaming priority? Angry emails? DNA and a copy of your dental records before you sign up?

Yes, my response was to Seriously who came in here to go out of his way to insult MWebGuy.

Stop talking absolute rubbish. I will never insult Mwebguy, I have all the respect for what he has done in the past. When I say MwebGuy I am referring to the Mweb representative as with them it's not a specific person as it is rather whoever is on duty. In the old days they had many powers and resolved many issues but to me it seemed that their power of authority was curtailed and the answers as well as the resolves became very repetitive and monolithic as if they were under direct instruction. The old sparkle was gone. I am not the only one who noticed the complete difference. So stop talking BS and accuse me of insulting MwebGuy. I insult MWEB and their CEO and would never insult the representative personally who are only the Mweb/client interface that are trying to help but are under instruction.

+/- 100 to 130GB for 1mbps users it seems.

Per 30 day rolling window? or what. There are guys being throttled at much less!

Wont it be cheaper then ;) to buy a fixed 130 GB capped account and enjoy it at full speed. I am not even so sure that that is even possible with Mweb any more. Anyway my allegiance are with Afrihost for now as they seem to know who brings their bread to the table, their service and support are beyond reproach and the way they structured their clients account management in clientzone are made with the consumers or their clients comfort in mind. Give me another ISP where you can suspend your service for six months with a click of a link. The winning criteria is of course that they do not treat anyone of their clients as "abusers".

Mweb's policy of non-disclosure of their limits is unacceptable to me and the reason I moved.

If you need to cite secret as your policy, you have something to hide.

If you have something to hide, I prefer not to do business with you.

I don't think that's very fair to AfriGuy. I think he really does his best to provide answers and feedback. At the end of the day, those "abusers" are our clients and also keep us in business, just like all our other clients - they also deserve our loyalty and respect.

We work very hard to work out a fair and sustainable system, and my personal experience is that Afrihost clients always come smiling in the end. Yes, at the moment we don't have all the resources we would like to offer the best experience we would like, but I still think we're offering a great experience to our clients given the circumstances, and we'll continue to do so until a more long term solution becomes available to us.

Our forum reps have a tough job (even the ones from other ISPs) and I think they all deserve a little credit for their courage and integrity.

My 2c - Use / Don't Use

Thanks for that and kudos for your hard work. This was exactly the same with Mweb a year ago. Something changed and that must have been when their CEO with Naspers involvement. Keep up the good work.

I agree on that the whole lack of proper limits has been a terrible choice for them.

Why should I do your dirty work. If you are so interested in anything else but your own private agenda then go read the complaints of members in their posts in the specific threads, those you continually questioned and tried to be made out as lies, there was many complaints of so many users. The problem with a top 3% of "abusers" is that automatically the whole band shifts down all the time as time goes on. Is that so difficult to even grasp?

Okay so you don't have anything since the rolling window window appeared in the CP?

See previous comment. I'm interested in users that have been throttled with the new 30 day usage indicator.
