Apparently EX-MWEB feedback is beyond the intellect of some... Maybe I should start posting my Openweb feedback in the MWEB feedback thread

Just started another download - newsgroups, sitting at a combined 420KB/s... I don't think I've seen this account drop below 300KB/s in the past week. Great to finally have broadband... I can even stream radio again.

not bad mouthing open web. sure they have done an excellent job with their offering so far bringing us some interesting solutions, but i would wonder how long it would be possible to serve everyone at 24.7 max line speed downloading.

I've wondered the same thing - but if it goes bad... I can move :) And fortunately, I don't have to wait up to 60 days if I chose to do so.

I'm also on Axxess JustUncapped, but the 384 flavour. Into my second month, so far quite happy, but the P2P brake is on pretty much all the week, day and night. They seem to release it at midnight friday, before re-applying it at 6am on monday again. Torrents are full speed all weekend, but they die a horrible death in the week. Browsing and the rest is good all the time. All in all I'm pretty happy. It's a better experience than I had on Mweb 384 uncapped.

Anyone have feedback on OpenWeb's 384 Uncapped Gold...Mweb shaping has gone overboard now.

Can't comment on 384, but on the 4MB product I've experienced no shaping.

You may need to test your "greener pastures" ISP for more than one month, considering many people are away on holiday during December, so the network load patterns may be atypical.

Surely what is good for the "greener pasture" ISP would be good for MWEB as well. Surely its not only "greener pasture" customers that go on leave? No?

I am currently an MWEB subscriber, but don't know for how long. They are really starting to p*ss me off right now. Any one else experiencing really slow speeds both locally and internationally? It is so bad that I am having to do this post with my backup telkom account.

Hi boerseun

Please send me speed and ping test results of both a local and an international site and make sure that you have nothing running in the back while doing these tests.

Kind regards

Wrong thread Mr Mweb ... ;)

Today for the first time I seem to be throttled to 1 Mbps. Did 100 GB this month and 15 GB yesterday. Seems that that 15 in a day got me over the limit.

Will continue to monitor and will report back.

Even so at R248/month for 4 Mbps (mostly) it's still a bargain, if you're not a 24x7 downloader.

Edit: back to 2+ Mbps. So either I was briefly in the top 50% or there were network issues.

MWET love you until they feel you have downloaded to much, then they will pound you with shaping till you are forced to close down your account. Avoid MWETat all costs if you plan on dling more than 30 gig a month.

What bollocks, I haven't downloaded less than 100gb per month and that's since April.
