At props we've got Beast and Nyakane. Both are good and belong there. Are there any other good black players that can come in as prop? Not that I can think of.

At hooker we've got du Plessis, Strauss and Brits. At WP we've got two good black hookers but in my opinion they aren't as good as the three already mentioned.

I can't think of any good black locks unfortunately.

At loose forward we are truly blessed in South Africa. Mohoje in my opinion is just not good enough. Kolisi makes a good impact player but even then you leave Kriel at home who is tons better.

, it started with a discussion at my local rugby club. The black players (7/31 - 23%) that I had included in my squad are,

Backs (5/13 - 38%):

Zane Kirchner, Bryan Habana, Lwazi Mvovo, Lionel Mapoe, Damian de Allende

Forwards (2/18 - 11%):

Trevor Nyakane, Beast Mtawarira

My 1st selection include 6 black players (26%) with 5 (33%) in the starting lineup.

I picked this team on merit and strategy, and by reading my thread you will understand why I picked certain players. This team will be criticised in SA as I had excluded black loosies, and a captain ( :whistle: ).

As of right now (following the win over Argentina);

de Villiers - Played 48, Won 30, Lost 18 (62.5%)
de Villiers vs the All Blacks - Played 11, Won 5, Lost 6 (45.5%)
de Villiers vs the Wallabies - Played 12, Won 4, Lost 8 (33.3%)
* Lifted the 2009 Tri-Nations Cup and beat the British & Irish Lions

Meyer - Played 41, Won 27, Lost 12, Drew 2 (65.85%)
Meyer vs the All Blacks - Played 7, Won 1, Lost 5 (14%)
Meyer vs the Wallabies - Played 7, Won 4, Lost 3 (57%)

Meyer hasn't had a chance to coach against the B&I Lions, so that cannot really be used as a +1 for Divvy. Divvy had more success against the best team in the world but had some rather pathetic results against lesser opposition (no disrespect to the Scots, but we shouldn't be losing to a second tier NH side). However, Meyer hit bottom recently when we lost to Argentina.

In my opinion there isn't much between them and neither have been much to talk about. One plus is that Meyer hasn't dragged us through the mud when he gets in front of the press.

Jake Whites team ? Strange how Jake never beat the ABS away with the same team and at a time when the like of Bakkies, Matfield, Habana, Smit and burger to mention a few was at their peaks.

He won the RWC even though he didn't beat NZ away. PdV beat NZ away but never won the RWC. This can go back and forth the whole week if we want.

They didn't pay him the agreed amount. He left France to join the Boks with a promise of X amount of money. Which they never paid.

Thanks for the stats. IT seems that there is nothing much between the two of them. Didn't JW lose to Wales for the first time in history in Bloem? So it seems that PdV lost to Scotland, HM to Argentina, and JW to Wales back then.

I see Jake White has a 55% win ratio against AUS, and 33% against NZ, and he had 1 Tri-Nations and a huge WC (regardless of who he didn't beat to win it).

There's not much to choose between the three coaches in my opinion. PdV's u21 WC was good, but you have to give HM credit for Super Rugby domination which produced a lot of players who won the 2007 WC. If it wasn't for the referee maybe PdV would have won the WC but who knows. At the moment you have to say that JW is better than the two, and then it's a shoot out between PdV and HM. Because PdV has a tri-nations, a better win record against the number one (the only test match that matters to me), and u21 WC, then you have to put him ahead of HM in international rugby. But there's no doubt HM achieved more as a whole, but in international rugby you have to go with PdV.

Then the question is why aren't teams employing PdV when he's not inferior to his peers? Is it because of his loud mouth, I don't think it's race since I think he's better than Alistair Coetzee?

Besides all of this, he is also a valuable commodity in the South African context in that he is a player of colour with parents of mixed descent. I had to mention this because many people are still in the dark (excuse the pun) about his race.

Well, I never knew Gurthro was coloured as well until he almost left to play in Europe.
