Fans declare war on Saru

Please don't get me wrong guys. I think HM is a farking moron for some team choices and I don't like him.

He's still a million times better than PdV ever could have wished to be. PdV got appointed at the best possible time for SA rugby (Maybe this is the reason he was chosen. Knowing it will take a miracle for him to cock it up) Meyer is building a team for the future. He might not reap those fruits but he has brought some amazing new players afore and also some useless nitwits like Ruan Pienaar and Pollard... bleh...

I'm a cricket fanatic, and whenever people tell me that Ricky Ponting was better than Jacques Kallis in tests I always tell them that they need to start their argument from the stats point of view and move on from there, because stats are unbiased and have no feelings and emotions. I have not claimed that PdV is better than HM, I want to make up my mind based on the stats in front of us. The fact that PdV inherited a team from JW is a good point to consider as well to nullify the stats, so I wont ignore it. So please give us the stats, otherwise we sound like the idiots who are burning the jersey.

Then take the stats given to you by Lager and the others. Why focus on Aus/NZ?

Edit: That's actually a rhetorical question, we all know why you asking those stats...

Such a role model.

Cape Town - Former Springbok coach Peter de Villiers was a guest speaker at an event where a group of supporters burned a Springbok jersey out of protest last week.

A new organisation, Supporters Against Racist Rugby Associations (Sarra), was officially launched in Mossel Bay last Friday, where the group burned a Springbok rugby jersey.

The group wants to see more players of colour in the Springbok team and feels not enough is being done to speed up the transformation process in South African rugby.

De Villiers, 58, attended the event as guest speaker.

De Villiers, who coached the Springboks between 2008 and 2011, has made headlines over the past few weeks for his scathing criticism of current national coach Heyneke Meyer.

He feels Meyer is not giving enough black players the opportunity to prove their worth and wrote in a column that the current Bok coach “underestimated the intelligence of black people with a dishonest selection”.

He has also said that Meyer has taken South African rugby “into the gutters”.

De Villiers will work as a rugby pundit for the SABC during this year’s Rugby World Cup.

The 2015 Rugby World Cup, to be staged in England and Wales, runs from September 18 until October 31.

So was he there when the jersey was burnt? Was he aware of it at the time?

The wise thing to do if you don't agree with the conduct of people you associate with, is to distance yourself from it ASAP. PDV is being rather quiet, so I assume he endorses this.

You are deflecting... The media are creating the perception that he was there. He was not.

He sure as heck was aware of this after the fact: it was over the media the past 3 days. He still hasn't disassociated himself with the event. So...

The biggest problem is which black players would you bring into the team? I'm a firm believer that the best players should be picked, whether they are all black or all white.

Look at a player like Oupa Mohoje. He clearly doesn't belong there. They tried and tried but he just isn't Springbok quality.

So lets go through the team.

At props we've got Beast and Nyakane. Both are good and belong there. Are there any other good black players that can come in as prop? Not that I can think of.

At hooker we've got du Plessis, Strauss and Brits. At WP we've got two good black hookers but in my opinion they aren't as good as the three already mentioned.

I can't think of any good black locks unfortunately.

At loose forward we are truly blessed in South Africa. Mohoje in my opinion is just not good enough. Kolisi makes a good impact player but even then you leave Kriel at home who is tons better.

And will get to the backs later, unfortunately have to leave now.

Mvovo is the one black back who deserves to be there. Coloreds there are quite a few - Habana, Fredericks, Petersen on his day(2007 he was one of our best players overall, but form isn't the same).

Not that race matters at all. I don't care if they're Chinese as long as they're the best.

this Springbok soap opera has made me lose interest in rugby all together
it just isn't enjoyable anymore

I think for purposes of transformation they count coloureds as 'black'.

A Chinese Springbok would be comical. :)

Chinese people are very agile in general though (I blame martial arts and yoga). Could make a very good wing if said Chinese player has speed too.
