Bafana Bafana's World Cup departure delayed by visa problems

Bafana Bafana's preparations for the World Cup have suffered a setback after visa issues forced the team to postpone its departure to Mexico.

According to some reports, the squad and technical team are still waiting to receive their visas. Head coach Hugo Broos is reportedly the only member of the travelling contingent who has obtained his visa.

Wonder how long it takes for them to sort a visa out. The earliest my wife could book for in April was mid July.

What a goal, placed that ball right in the corner!!
Despite the prices the stadium looks packed and quite a few South African flags in the crowd but perhaps the flag wavers are not all South Africans?

…the 2010 World Cup was held in South Africa and prices were very cheap…

The 2026 WC only starts next week.

I remember that day like it was yesterday. You could hear the screaming and shouting and of course the vuvuzelas throughout the neighboruhood when he smashed that home.

My brother was outside and I ran out the house and violently shook him to let him know whe had just scored.

I watched Spain vs Honduras at Ellis Park and Germany vs Ghana at the FNB Stadium. Both games were packed and there were lots of South Africans in attendance at both games.

It truly was an incredible tournament. Football really is the peoples game
