ROFL.

Why should the ANC with >60% support not have lead the GNU?

De Klerk was deputy president, far more than the NP really deserved, looking at their results from 1994.

Because people don't know what they want? Just because they voted for anc doesn't mean they actually expect anything from the ANC. Other than taking the control away form white men.

There should be some kind of pre requisite before people can vote.. Or how much their votes should count. Depending on level of education.

Its all about environmental conditioning, education. People need to be taught how to think properly in a way that fits in with a capitalist 'western' first world country.

Yep, black leaders need to be taught that political power is not the same as traditional power of old which included material wealth. Which is why they are so prone to corruption.

Telecoms / Entertainment is stil state owned. So how fair is it to have a democracy when the goverment has the power to sencor people's access to information.

Its so unreal to consider in most european countries the average person went to university. Whereas the average south african can't speak engrish. What makes you think a democracy is the best form of goverment when people are so easily manipulated?

Imagine the Anc could tell the voters that whites tried to kill black people with aids and if it wasn't for the anc they would all be dead..

oh wait that is what the anc is telling their voters.

They are? Someone better tell MNet, SterKinekor, Vodacom, MTN etc. If you're talking about a state broadcaster, I think you'll find that most European countries have those too.

+1
Been trying to say this forever.

I really enjoyed this post. But tell me, what do you think will happen after 2-3 generations and the Gold has run out in the country? Would we become the second DRC ?

And? Tourism is a bigger contributer to gdp than mining, south africas gold mining industry has been in decline for a long time.

Tourism is on the rise, afaik mining still plays a big part with steel and platinum having big roles, but it is not as big as it used to be.

Can you please provide me with a link for this? All the links that I've googled still says mining is the biggest with manufacturing second.

ANC just needs 3 extra seats for a 2/3 majority vote. If they need this kind of vote I am sure they will look to one or more of the smaller parties for support in this regard.

Don't get too comfortable yet. The 17th Amendment was or still is in the pipeline. I think it is in the process of Public Comment at this moment. Perhaps something to follow up on.

Read this report > ANC lied - Zille
Actually a very damming report that seems to have got lost in the election euphoria of the last week or so. :(

Yep, the NATS (aka ANC) have denied the masses education for the past 15 years, and I guess you'll blame the NATS for the decline in public service and infrastructure.

The struggle hero's are still struggling to line their pockets with the tax payers money, before the wheels fall off like in Zim 1.0

The anc had to basically build a schooling system from nothing for 40 million people.

Hope this lasts...although I have my doubts. On the plus side... Thank god I live in the Western Cape :D Haha, my friends are all moving to Cape now.

Cape Town is generally safer(although it has twice the murder rate as johannesburg) there is no difference in service delivery.
