Finnteck TV Box

Stop trying to dunk on the guy, he obviously made a mistake and has realised it but it's too late to rectify it.
I'm not dunking on the guy at all I'm trying to save him time. Trying to get it working is just a waste of time. Time = money. Use it as a doorstop or recycle it and get something that's certified.

"Use it as a doorstop" sounded flippant to me. I do agree with you though, he should buy a different one in if he can.

Not dunking on him, life is too short, to waste it, trying to get enjoyment out of something that is not fit for purpose.

Nothing pisses me off, more than having to fix something before I can get some joy out of it.

So called Android boxes, fall into the category, "life is too short to waste on cheap crap" - I don't expect everyone to be able to get a Shield TV Pro, but there are a lot of good cheap - Android TV - streaming boxes, or Sticks, out there, that one does not need to waste your time, and other people's time, to get them working after a fashion.

I will get a new one guys. Thanks for your feedback.

Mate, I feel for you, not nice getting something that does not meet your expectations, and that you need to work on, before you can enjoy it.

There is a reason why, school fees have to get paid, as much as we all dislike having to do so.

Ignore the grumpy frustrated person, he cannot get a date from a cashier.

Per the other commenters, school fees were paid. Google certified devices work and is the minimum requirement a tv box should have.

You welcome to try and fix it and post your solution here. Others can maybe learn from it.

There is a thread on this forum, where members post their purchasing mistakes. We all made these mistakes. You welcome to post it there. It is a lighthearted affair at least when last I checked.

Have you tried googling for the very very little information you’ve actually provided as to what the problem might be

Step 1 - Unplug it from the mains for 5 minutes - then power it up again & see if your home screen re-appears

Step 2 - Make sure that it is connected to the internet via your router - either via Wi-Fi or via a LAN cable - and that you have also rebooted your router as well - also make sure that you have not run out of data

Step 3 - Make sure that your HDMI cable is not faulty - try using another one - and that your Android box HDMI CEC settings are set correctly to ON or AUTO - and check if the HDMI CEC settings on your TV settings menu options are also set correctly as well

Final Solution

Step 4 - Try a factory reset and set up the Android box from scratch again
