Ok the title is a bit to much but anyway in FF when we have a mouse over /cursor on a thread, the balloon pops up thingy displays the full thread then disappears:(.How do i set it to be there or longer.I am sure its something simple:DHint please

I think that is a feature of the board software, not Firefox. Maybe post this question in the Forum help section?

as far as I know this isnt something you can change.

strict html says the <alt> doesnt show when hovering, and firefox responds to this correctly. only text shown in <title> tags should show up. i found a few plugins to make <alt> text popout in the same way that the <title> text does, but there doesnt seem any mechanism to delay the timeout for <title> tags...even using about:config to tweak firefox doesnt show up any likely candidates, and it is probable that this is hardcoded into firefox. i get around 7 seconds btw.....

I've noticed that it doesn't stay too long, but it's usually long enough for me to get to the gist of the thread :)

brad..thanks again but dont you think this is a bandwidth guzzler.I mean i am on 3g PPDB:(

It can be configured and you don't have to hover every thread ;)
It does work very well though... but yeah, I share your sentiment!
By the way, you hover tool - what do you use - I have ff3 and can't do the hover linky thing without this add-on..

I've used CoolIris and have liked it - sure it guzzles a bit, but then not soo much that its ever concerned me - I really like using it when browsing forums.

As for the original question - I don't think we can adjust the timing - this is my non-expert opinion ;)

Is it not perhaps under
about:config (enter that in the address bar of the browser)

it probably is. knowing what to look for is the issue i suppose.
